Chapter 554 Settle the Score

The next second, Ayla’s voice cut through the room. Stop wasting your time with him!

Jed spun around. Ayla was no longer dizzy or unfocused. Her eyes were sharp and fierce, like a blade aimed straight at his chest.

He froze, then rage and shock hit him at once. Motherfucker! You played me! Arghhh!

One of the bodyguards stepped forward and punched him hard in the temple. Stars exploded in Jed’s vision. He stumbled back, clutching his head. The second punch landed right on his nose. Blood burst out instantly, splattering across his face, hands, and the floor.

Then a punch slammed into his stomach. Jed’s face turned pale. Sweat poured down his forehead.

Iris handed Ayla a rope. By the time Ayla took it, one bodyguard had already kicked the back of Jed’s knee. There was a sharp crack.

Jed dropped to his knees, right in front of Ayla.

He had always looked down on Ayla. Jed never took her seriously. He mocked her, sneered at her, and even felt annoyed by her existence. In his mind, a woman like her married Troy because she was lucky to be born female.

Someone who didn’t deserve the position should be looked down on. That was what he believed.

But now Troy had abandoned Jed and was focusing on promoting Isabella. Jed couldn’t just sit there and wait to be replaced.

Since Troy liked Ayla, he would just give him what he wanted.

He planned to send Ayla straight to Troy’s bed. After doing some digging, Jed thought he found Ayla’s weak point and decided to target her. Because he never respected her, he barely put in any effort. He even felt disgusted while carrying out the plan.

So he never imagined that now, he would be kneeling in front of her. Like a pathetic stray dog. It made no sense to him.

Enduring the sharp pain all over his body, Jed quickly understood his situation. He had to calm Ayla down first. Everything else could wait. So, he forced himself to beg. Ayla, I’m sorry. I was too reckless. Actually, Mr. Winston wanted to see you. He asked me to bring you. I just used a faster method.”

Really?Ayla looked down at him. Her voice was so cold it made his whole body shiver. Troy promised me yesterday he would never bother me again. So why would he suddenly want to see me?Jed froze in shock. HHow is that possible?

You came after me without even doing a proper background check. With skills like that, no wonder Troy gave up on you.” Ayla let out a cold laugh. She tossed the rope to the bodyguards. Tie him up.”

Yes, Ms. Keaton.”

Jed felt a chill run through him. The bodyguards obeyed her instantly without question. Gosh! Is this really

Ayla?

Finished

Two bodyguards alone didn’t mean much, but Ayla’s presence was overwhelming. The way she gave orders was sharp and decisive. The weak, confused woman he remembered was completely gone. How did she become like this?

Jed couldn’t accept it. He started struggling. When he realized he couldn’t break free, he struggled harder and harder. The veins on his forehead bulged. Just moments ago, he was begging politely. Now he looked like a rabid animal. The hatred in his eyes looked like Ayla had destroyed his entire life. Ayla, if you dare

touch me-

Because of his struggle, the bodyguard slammed his head to the ground.

Ayla walked over and stepped on his fingers. She pressed down hard, grinding slowly. You can’t even read the room. You’re unbelievably stupid. Open your eyes and look carefully.

She paused. Her eyes turned ice cold. You said things you shouldn’t have. We still have a score to settle.”

Jed tried to speak, but his face was pressed tightly against the ground. He couldn’t say a single word. But he understood Ayla was talking about the baby she had lost.

He was ready to threaten her, but she cut him off.

Right in front of him, Ayla pulled out her phone and called Troy.

No answer.

She thought about it and called Isabella.
