Before leaving the house, Troy fixed his appearance. His face still looked pale and sick, which made him seem a little worn out. But after putting on a shirt and a trench coat, he looked sharp again. He wasn’t as aggressive as usual, but in a different way, he looked even more dangerous.

On the way, Isabella told Troy what Jed had done and how he drugged Ayla.

Troy didn’t get angry. But the air inside the car instantly turned heavy and suffocating.

Isabella held her breath. She didn’t dare to say another word. She didn’t need to do anything anyway. Jed was finished today.

Troy would never use such disgusting methods, but Jed dared to drug a woman. And not just any woman- Ayla. He must have lost his mind. Isabella couldn’t understand how Jed even thought like that.

At the hospital, Ayla got an injection and slowly started to feel better. It would take a few hours for the drug to fully leave her body. Ayla had strong self–control. After the shot calmed things down, she looked almost completely normal.

She then brought Jed to a bar owned by Halle’s friend.

Jed was thrown onto the floor of a private room.

Halle called soon after. “I tested him. Brooke is fine. Though I noticed something. Brooke reacts a little slowly. He’s usually good with people, but because he responds slowly, he comes off like he has low social awareness. But this is good; he’s very sincere. After a few drinks and some chatting, we got really close; he poured his heart out and told me everything.”

“He just signed the contract. As long as there’s no problem, that’s good,” Ayla said. “You’re simply good at talking. You make people drop their guard.”

“True, haha,” Halle said. “I didn’t see Fabiola. She probably already left. Is everything okay on your side?”

“Everything’s fine.” Now she just needed to wait for Troy to come deal with Jed.

“Alright. I’m good here too.”

“Then I’ll stay and keep Brooke company for a while.”

Halle hung up. “OK.”

Suddenly, James called. “We came back earlier than planned. Are you and Ayla done yet?”

Isabella told Ayla they were already on the way.

Only Jed, lying on the floor, was terrified. He had no idea why Ayla brought him here. She wouldn’t actually kill him, right? He kept begging for mercy, but Ayla ignored him completely. He begged until his throat went hoarse. It did nothing.

As time passed, Jed started hating Ayla more and more.

He jumped. “Who is it?”

Ayla, who had been resting with her eyes closed, slowly opened them.

Iris walked over and opened the door.

When the door opened, Isabella was standing outside. Behind her was Troy.

Further back, leaning against the wall and playing on his phone, was Max. He just came along for support. He didn’t plan to get involved. With Troy in his current mood, anyone who crossed him was asking for trouble. Troy didn’t need help from Max anyway.

Isabella stepped aside and gave Troy space.

The moment Jed saw Troy, he was dumbfounded.

He never imagined Ayla could make Troy come in person with just one phone call.
