Divorce and Freedom: No More Homemaker for Him
Chapter 814 Hang Out
Finished
Seeing Bria up close made Matilda’s heart jump into her throat, a sharp, instinctive sense of danger and fear rising inside her.
“We’ve met before, haven’t we?” Matilda had a sweet, delicate look, and her voice matched it, soft and pleasant, the kind that naturally closed distance and eased tension.
She just wanted to figure out what was going on, how someone had suddenly shown up at her door.
A woman’s intuition was rarely wrong. Matilda had a strong feeling Bria’s appearance had something to do with Kaleb.
To be honest, she really did have a good impression of Kaleb.
He was nothing like the men she’d met in the entertainment industry. What stood out most was his steadiness and sincerity, a level of maturity far beyond his age. The more you got to know him, the more you felt he was genuinely a good person.
And finding a truly good person was rare. As for the men in the industry, every one of them was handsome, and when they looked at you, their eyes were full of affection, like they were completely into
you.
But in reality, they were like that with everyone, full of fake emotions and carefully worn masks. Matilda had almost never met anyone she could truly trust.
But with Kaleb, no matter what he did, you could feel his sincerity. He wasn’t putting on an act, and that alone made him incredibly likable.
Not to mention his talent and looks, which far surpassed most men in the industry, and now he was also a highly successful entrepreneur.
It was hard for Matilda not to like him. She genuinely enjoyed spending time with him.
She’d even asked around. Kaleb was single and had never been in a relationship. His romantic life was a complete blank, which only made him more appealing. Matilda was naturally open to getting to know him better. If something developed, it would definitely be something to look forward to.
When she interacted with Kaleb, she’d always been a little proactive, but never overly eager. Everything stayed natural, nothing that would draw attention.
And now someone had actually come knocking on her door.
Her assistant hadn’t even opened it properly before they barged in, and the bodyguards behind Bria were intimidating enough on their own.
Matilda’s heart pounded. She didn’t dare say anything more, choosing instead to wait for Bria’s reaction. Back in the day, when Bria dealt with people, she didn’t care if they were men or women. Anyone who crossed her got the same treatment. Of course, she was always harsher on men.
Bria looked Matilda up and down. There weren’t many ugly women who made it as actresses, Men, on the

other hand, were easily fooled, always drawn to beautiful things.
Finisheet
Matilda was undeniably attractive, far more pleasing than that shameless bitch, Melody. At the very least. Bria’s attitude toward her wasn’t terrible.
Originally, Bria had planned to give Matilda a simple, blunt warning, make it clear she was off-limits. maybe throw in a little intimidation so she’d never dare get close to Kaleb again.
But suddenly, it didn’t feel interesting anymore.
What was the point of warning Matilda? What mattered was making Kaleb know. He needed to understand that she cared about him.
Bria changed her mind on the spot. She sat down on the couch, her gaze settling on Matilda’s face, a slight curl at the corner of her lips. Her presence was naturally overwhelming. Even with that faint smile, it still felt oppressive, almost malicious. “Nothing much. I was just curious about you. Thought I’d come by and hang out a little.”
That was complete nonsense. This didn’t look like someone dropping by to hand out. It looked more like she was here to kidnap, warn, or threaten her.
Matilda felt a surge of frustration, but there was no way she could openly go against Bria. The bodyguards alone were enough to scare her. She forced herself to stay composed. “I don’t think I caught your name.”
“Bria Winston.” Her reply was short and direct.
Matilda glanced at her assistant, who had gone pale with fear. “Go make some coffee.”
“Instant or freshly ground?” Bria twirled the ring on her finger, smiling as she asked, “I usually only drink freshly ground coffee.”
The assistant stammered, “W-we have freshly ground.”
Bria raised a brow. “Is the coffee machine from the hotel, or did you bring your own?”
The assistant looked at Matilda, on the verge of tears, her voice even more cautious. “It’s the hotel’s.”
“Who knows how many people have used a hotel machine. It’s probably filthy. Either clean it inside and out right now, or go buy a new one. Otherwise, I won’t be able to drink it.”
The composure on Matilda’s face was starting to crack.
Meanwhile, Bria still looked completely at ease, as if this was her home, as if she was the one who belonged here.
