Camilla snapped back to reality with a jolt.
Oh God!
What was she doing?
How could she...
Shouldn't a normal person's first reaction be to look away?
What on earth was she doing?
Why was she shamelessly ogling him?
She slapped her hands over her eyes. "Hurry up and put your clothes on!"
Lambert figured she had seen enough. He finally bent down, scooped up the towel, and secured it around his waist.
"You've already seen everything," he pointed out mildly. "What's the point of putting clothes on now?"
"I—I didn't mean to..."
Camilla had no idea how to explain herself.
Her brain was short-circuiting.
After a frantic moment, she stammered, "It's not like I stripped you. You did it yourself..."
"So just because I took them off, you get a free show?" Lambert challenged, a hint of amusement in his voice. "You think you're in the right here?"
Camilla was on the verge of tears. "I'm sorry..."
"There you go with the apologies again. What am I supposed to do with all these 'I'm sorry's?"
"Then what do you want?"
"Well, since you've seen me bare," Lambert said, taking a seat on the edge of the bed, "are you going to take responsibility for me?"
Camilla was absolutely mortified. She had no idea how to shoot back at him.
She had never been the type to bicker or trade witty banter anyway.
All she could do was play dead and stay silent.
Lambert reached out and tugged at the blanket she was using to hide her face. "Hiding isn't going to work. Cammie, you have to face me eventually."
Camilla was genuinely close to crying now. "You said you wouldn't push me..."
"Fine. I won't push."
Camilla finally peeked at him. "Really?"
The moment she opened her eyes, she was greeted again by Lambert's broad shoulders and thick, sculpted chest.
Thankfully, he had the towel back on.
