At least Troy had two children as leverage, which meant he could keep seeing Ayla and stay in contact with her.

Troy didn’t care what Ayla actually thought. Alle wanted was to stay tangled up with her for the rest of his life, and the children were simply ools to achieve that.

Halle seriously couldn’t stand Troy’s condescending tone. “Troy, since you’ve already agreed to raise the children together, there’s no need to say something so disgusting. And your attitude? You are not cooperative at all. Can’t you speak properly?”

Troy let out a cold laugh. “Sorry I made you feel lisgusted.”

He said he was sorry, but his nasty attitude clearly wasn’t going to change.

Halle was so fuming. Ayla grabbed her best frien’s hand and glared at Troy. “After the children are born, I want a paternity test done.”

The moment Troy heard that, his face turned dark. “Ayla!”

Halle really couldn’t hold it in anymore. “Troy, what are you yelling for? Those two children were entirely your doing from start to finish. Ay isn’t even allowed to question whether the children are really hers. If the children don’t have Ayla’s DNA, then this whole father-and- mother situation is just bullshit and you don’t get to cling to her for life. If you want to find the kids’ mother so badly, then go find whoever actually gave birth to them.”

The vein at Troy’s temple jumped as he stared hard at Ayla. “Do you really think I would make that kind of rookie mistake?”

Ayla snapped, “I’m doing a paternity test, just to be safe. If they’re not my children, then I don’t have to take the responsibility.”

“Fine. Very well!”Troy was truly on the verge of losing his mind. To be honest, he understood why Ayla thought that-but that was exactly why it burned him.

Troy actually hated children. Even so, he still looked forward to the birth of his two babies with Ayla. He was full of anticipation, but the person he wanted to share that joy with remained completely cold. The contrast was unbearable.

Ayla watched Troy get so angry and only found ridiculous. “So unless the pain lands on you, you don’t understand it. I used to be just as hopeful as you, but look at what you did. The way you’re losing your temper now only proves how much of a bastard you were back then,”

Her words instantly shut Troy up.

Troy took several deep breaths. He had never cared much about decency or shame, but now that it hurt him directly, he couldn’t brush it off the way he usually did.

When I do bad things, I’m more careful and more thorough than when I do good ones.”

“You’re actually proud of it, huh? You really have no shame at all.”Ayla almost laughed out of anger. “No matter what you say or do, I’m doing the paternity test. I have every right to doubt whether the children are mine.”

Troy said, “You just can’t. I won’t allow it.”

Ayla let out a cold laugh. “Troy, I know it’s hard for us to communicate properly, but the moment there’s a disagreement, you dig in like a stubborn bull. If you keep acting like this, we won’t be able to raise the children together.”

Troy clenched his teeth. “I want you to change your attitude. I don’t like how guarded you are toward the two children. I won’t accept it.”

Ayla said, “So because I did something outside your expectations, you can’t handle it and you fall apart?”

Troy’s face was full of hostility. “Yes. They’re our children. If I’m this excited, then you should be just as excited as I am.”

Ayla’s face flushed red with anger.

Back during the divorce, arguing with Troy had been normal. But now they were still going at it. She figured maybe she was still too young, which was why she lacked the self-control and emotional restraint to avoid the argument.

Halle said, “Troy, I’ve never met a man as shameless as you. If you keep bullying Ayla like this, you’ll destined to stay single for life.”
