Ayla didn’t say anything else. Her expression turned cold as she lowered her head and patiently fed Birdie.
After Birdie finished eating and fell asleep, Ayla left the nursery with Max.
Max glanced at her. “Ayla, good night.”
Ayla looked at him. The anger she had just pushed down suddenly came back. “Not yet.”
Max narrowed his charming eyes and raised a brow. “You’re not going to sleep? If you’re staying up, I can keep you company.”
Ayla turned around. “Come with me.”
Max grinned. The moment she turned away, his smile grew wider.
But she was headed to Troy’s bedroom.
Max frowned.
Ayla pushed the door open. Inside, Troy lay flat on the bed with both hands resting on his chest. He was sleeping in a very proper position.
He was a father now, but this jerk was sleeping as if nothing had happened.
Ayla strode over and pulled the blanket right off him.
Troy jolted up instantly. When he saw Ayla and Max standing there, his expression darkened with annoyance. He rubbed his head and sat up. What are you two doing here?”
Ayla crossed her arms. “You’re the father, but you’re letting your friend feed the babies. Are you out of your mind?” She stared at him. “You’re the one who brought these kids into the world. You have to take responsibility. If you won’t, then don’t bother to be their father. I can raise them myself. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind filing them a better father.”
Max immediately added, enjoying the drama. “I volunteer.”
Troy had taken a barrage of scolding. His expression turned even grimmer as he glared at Max. “Stay out of this.”
Ayla didn’t back down. “If you don’t know how to care for babies, then learn. It’s not that hard. I refuse to let my twins grow up calling a useless man their dad.”
Troy’s head buzzed with anger. All his sleepiness vanished. Ayla kept bringing up the babies,

Troy suddenly realized something-he was a father. Many things had changed. For the first time, the complicated emotions of becoming a father washed over him.
Maybe in the beginning, he had treated the babies like a tool. But now that they were real, living children, he understood something clearly. They were not tools. They were tiny lives that needed adults to care for them with their whole hearts.
The reality hit him hard. Everything he had expected before was shaken, and his thoughts suddenly felt messy and complicated.
Ayla had done with Troy. She was ready to leave but her phone suddenly vibrated.
She took it out and glanced at the screen.
Draven had replied.
Ayla’s expression changed slightly.
Troy frowned. “Who’s texting you?”
“Maybe you should learn how to take care of babies from Max,” Ayla said. She ignored his question and walked out.
As soon as she left Troy’s room, her nervousness was obvious.
What had Draven replied?
Just a question mark?
Would he ask why she had messaged him?
And if he asked, what should she say? Should she tell him the babies had been born?
Her mind started racing with thoughts. The more she thought about it, the more she regretted being so careless earlier.
She shouldn’t have broken the silence,
It would have been better to leave things the way they were and keep their distance. But Ayla couldn’t ignore a message from Draven. It pulled at her strongly.
After locking the door, she set her phone on the bedside table and went into the bathroom. She splashed cold water on her face.
It had been a long time since she felt this nervous. Just one message was enough to make her

Two whole months. For two months, there had been no news from Draven.
If she didn’t look for him or contact him on purpose, they wouldn’t even run into each other -even if they lived in the same neighborhood, let alone in a huge international city like Trensea.
For the past two months, Ayla had been busy living her life and working. She had traveled to several cities for business trips, gone to Theoriel to watch fireworks, and now the babies had been born. So much had happened. Time had felt incredibly long. At this moment, it truly felt like she hadn’t heard anything about Draven in ages.
Reaching out again really took courage.
Ayla dried her face, walked back to the bed, and picked up her phone.
The whole process felt like slow motion. Every step seemed slower than usual, and even the sound of her breathing felt louder in her ears.
She unlocked the phone and opened the chat.
