Due to the twins’ health, Ayla and Troy decided to stay in Moblosia for ten days before flying home on a private jet.
Those ten days became a quiet adjustment period. Ayla was trying to accept her new identity as a mother. Troy, in his own way, was doing the same.
When the twins were asleep, Ayla joined work meetings online.
When they were awake, she stayed with them.
After becoming a mother, Ayla often thought about Juliana. Her mood during these days felt lower than usual. She spoke less, though she never looked openly unhappy.
Sometimes Ayla took photos and videos of the twins. When she had a moment to herself, she would watch them sleeping peacefully. Their milk felt comforting, almost healing.
But the responsibility on her shoulders felt heavier now.
They were her children. She was the first person responsible for them. If anything happened, she had to face it first.
Newborn babies were so tiny and fragile. Ayla couldn’t stop worrying that something might happen to them.
Her anxiety slowly grew. Sometimes she woke up in the middle of the night and walked quietly to the nursery. She would lean close to the babies and check their breathing. Only when she felt their warm breath did her worry ease a little.
The tension came so quietly that she didn’t even notice when it started. She wondered if all new mothers felt this way.
Max was the first person to notice.
Halle didn’t realize anything was wrong because she had gone to handle some matters with Edgar and was staying at a hotel.
Max, however, knew. Since he was a great cook, he began bringing Ayla beverages and homemade soups. Everyone could share the soup, but Ayla always had a special herbal tea prepared just for her.

Her mind was filled with too many worries. During these days, she barely spoke to Troy. They hardly interacted. Maybe Troy was simply satisfied that she was staying nearby. For now, he didn’t stir up trouble.
Without Troy causing problems, Ayla felt relieved. If he could keep behaving himself, she believed they might actually work together to raise the children.
The day they were leaving to return home, Troy knocked on her door.
Ayla was packing her luggage. “Do you need something?” she asked.
Troy didn’t look friendly. He studied her face. “You just became a mother. Why do you look so upset? You’ve barely said a word these past few days.”
Ayla frowned. “I love my children. But that has nothing to do with the fact that I hate how you secretly brought them into this world.”
He didn’t like her cold attitude. “Ayla, stop pretending,” he said. “Is it because the babies are here now? Do you think that means you and Draven can never get back together, so you’re secretly heartbroken?”
She almost burst out laughing. “You care about your brother that much? Somehow everything always ends up being about him with you.”
Troy narrowed his eyes. “Is that a yes? What’s there to be sad about? You weren’t upset when we got divorced. Did you do this to get on my nerves?”
She rolled her eyes. “What if I am?”
The veins on his forehead bulged with anger. “You-”
“Get out,” she said coldly.
Troy fell silent.
He stared at her fiercely. This woman was impossible to crack. Nothing he said seemed to affect her. Troy told himself to be patient. After moment, his face dark with frustration, he turned and walked out.
Newborn babies were extremely sensitive to changes in their environment. Because of the air pressure during the flight, the twins cried almost the entire trip.
They were only ten days old and already on a plane. Ayla’s heart ached for them.

Both she and Troy were overwhelmed. No matter how hard they tried to comfort the babies, nothing worked.
When the plane finally landed, the twins suddenly broke out in a rash.
Hearing them cry so hard that their little faces turned red made Ayla’s chest tighten with fear. She immediately took them to the private hospital run by the Winstons.
