Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 830

Kaleb had always thought Bria had a thick skin, and yeah, she absolutely did, but looking at it now, that wasn't entirely a bad thing. She could spin anything into a positive, and the emotional payoff was off the charts.

They'd been chatting and having a great time, and Kaleb's expression kept getting softer and warmer. Truthfully, he wanted to just stare at Bria's face—take her in for a long, long while.

But he was scared she'd catch him, so he stole a quick glance and asked, "Made up your mind on what you want to eat?"

"I've eaten at every kind of place under the sun, and there's nothing I'm specifically craving. But tonight is different. I'm taking you somewhere good. I'm a fun-loving girl, so just stick with me and enjoy the ride."

As she talked, Kaleb glanced over at her again.

Bria caught his little move out of the corner of her eye, and she found Kaleb both hilarious and kind of adorable. "If you want to look, just look. What's with all the sneaking around? We're together now. The way you're acting, you'd think we just started dating!" She turned and shot him a glare. "You're so innocent it's actually making me lose my nerve to do anything to you."

Kaleb steered the conversation in another direction. "Back when we were in Aqualith, where did those red marks on me come from?"

The implication being that she was capable of anything.

Bria suddenly got a little sheepish. "Where do you think they came from?"

Kaleb wasn't letting her off the hook. "I have no clue. I was passed out cold. I want you to tell me yourself."

Bria was annoyed. "You're doing this on purpose, aren't you? You're just toying with me."

Kaleb said, "Who's the one who can dish it out but can't take it?"

Bria snapped back, "You're a guy. You tell me."

"How am I supposed to know?"

"Wow, you really want to push your luck, huh? If I told you I made them with my fingers, would you buy that?"

"Pinching can leave marks that perfect?"

"No," Bria laughed. "What do you actually want to know?"

Kaleb's eyes darkened. "Where did the marks on you come from?"

"Oh-ho, looks like Mr. Keaton is jealous." Bria was delighted now. She loved seeing Kaleb get jealous instead of acting like an iceberg. "What if I told you someone was nibbling on me? Would you believe that?"

"Who?" Kaleb pressed.

Bria heard the shift in his tone and was practically dying laughing. "First admit you're jealous—that you don't like the idea of someone else touching my skin." Bria flicked him a quick wink. "Just admit it. Give me the satisfaction, and then I'll tell you."

"Tell me first."

Bria was laughing so hard her eyes were nearly shut. "If she ever does start dating someone, I'll thank you in advance on her behalf, since you'd be the very first person to bless her relationship."

The two of them goofed around the whole drive until Bria pulled up to a private upscale restaurant.

The place was insanely pricey, members-only, with a steep buy-in. Definitely not somewhere your average person would be dining.

Kaleb could afford to eat at a place like this, but since he wasn't into it and didn't have particularly high standards for food, he wouldn't have ended up somewhere like this on his own. So this was actually his first time here.

Bria knew the place inside and out, and the manager led the two of them to a private room with panoramic windows. From there, you could turn your head and take in the entire city skyline, making it the ultimate spot for photos.

This was exactly Bria's scene. Sparkling, dazzling, buzzing, glamorous, dripping in luxury. The place matched her perfectly. Her life was always painted in the boldest colors.

But there was a small moment before they got out of the car.

Kaleb couldn't get his door open, and just as he turned to say something, Bria's face appeared up close to his.

Kaleb could really keep a lid on it, but he knew exactly what was about to happen, and just thinking about it sent his heart racing.

Bria stopped close to him without going any further.
