Divorced CEO's Forgotten Wife Strikes Back (Riley and Bryce) novel Chapter 127

**Dreams Refuse Gravity by Leo Arden Knox**
**Chapter 127: Stupid**

**Lucky Draw**

Bella stood frozen, her mind racing to comprehend the weight of Riley’s words. Before she could muster a reaction, she felt Riley’s fingers grasp the emerald ring, its cool surface slipping away from her skin.

In a fluid motion, Riley yanked the ring from Bella’s finger and stepped back, her eyes locked onto Bella as she suddenly plunged into the sea.

“Ah! Help! Help!” Bella cried out, her voice laced with panic as she flailed her arms, desperately trying to keep herself afloat.

Bryce’s instincts kicked in, and he lunged forward, but Sebastian’s firm grip on his shoulders held him back, rendering him immobile. The desperation in Bryce’s eyes was palpable as he struggled against Sebastian’s hold.

“Riley, are you trying to kill her?” Wren shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos. “Even if you’re feeling jealous of Bella, you can’t just let her drown!”

“Kill her?” Riley scoffed, a smirk twisting her lips. The sea lay calm, almost mocking in its stillness, and she glanced down at Bella, who was thrashing in the water. “I thought Ms. Sinclair was supposed to be an excellent swimmer. Turns out she can’t even manage this gentle tide.”

With a sudden resolve, Riley reached down and grabbed Bella, pulling her back up. Bella steadied herself, her heart racing as she realized the water only reached her waist.

A wave of embarrassment washed over her, her cheeks flushing a deep crimson.

**Lucky Draw**

Riley turned to Bryce, her expression challenging. “So, do you still think Bella is your savior? Do you really believe it was she who rescued you from that raging river after you got stabbed?”

Bryce stood there, his mind a blank slate as he processed the confrontation unfolding before him. It felt as if a heavy weight had lodged itself in his throat, making it difficult to speak.

Bella, her face a mask of anger and humiliation, shot back, “Everyone knows I saved Bryce! You can’t just twist the truth like that, Riley!”

“Twist the truth?” Riley’s voice dripped with disdain as she dragged Bella back toward the shore, shoving her aside with a dismissive flick. “You honestly think you’re significant enough for me to bother lying about?”

Bella stumbled, falling awkwardly onto the sandy beach, her body covered in grains of sand from head to toe. Her wet clothes clung to her, giving her an unkempt appearance. In stark contrast, Riley appeared composed, her clothes only slightly damp, exuding an air of superiority.

“Even if you try this, it won’t work. Bryce believes in me!” Bella exclaimed, quickly regaining her footing. She turned to Bryce, her eyes pleading. “Right, Bryce?!”

As if awakening from a daze, Bryce finally met Bella’s hopeful gaze. He gritted his teeth, determination flooding his voice as he declared, “Yeah, I believe in Bella!”

Hadn’t he already chosen to stand by her side before?

Without a moment’s hesitation, she snatched the wedding rings from his palm and flung them toward the ocean.

They sailed through the air, disappearing into the waves with a soft plop, swallowed by the sea as if they had never mattered at all.

“You—” Bryce was left speechless, his mind reeling. He could hardly fathom that Riley had discarded the rings so casually, without a flicker of emotion in her eyes.

It felt as if she were merely tossing out trash.

What had all that been for—carrying those rings with him all this time?

Then her voice broke through the silence, soft yet resolute. “Bryce, we’re done.”

He looked up, his eyes wide with shock, staring at her as if he were seeing a stranger before him.

But Riley didn’t falter, not for a second. She turned on her heel and walked away, her back straight, never once glancing back.

Bryce instinctively reached out, desperate to grab her sleeve, to stop her from walking away, but the distance between them felt insurmountable.
