Divorced CEO's Forgotten Wife Strikes Back (Riley and Bryce) novel Chapter 165

**TITLE: Dreams Refuse Gravity by Leo Arden Knox**

**Chapter 165: Break His Wrist**

Without a moment’s hesitation, Riley lifted her leg and delivered a swift kick, connecting solidly with Bryce’s chest.

In an instant, Bryce was propelled backward, as if he were nothing more than a ragdoll, crashing to the ground in an ungainly heap.

The sudden disturbance sent ripples of curiosity through the crowd of guests nearby. Heads turned, and whispers filled the air as they sought to understand the unfolding drama.

“What happened here?” Sebastian’s voice cut through the murmur as he approached, his brow furrowed in concern. His eyes darted from the fallen Bryce to Riley, searching for signs of distress. “Are you okay?”

“It’s nothing to worry about. Just a minor incident,” Riley replied, attempting to downplay the situation with a lightness that belied the tension in the air.

Yet, Sebastian’s gaze was already drawn to her right arm.

A dark stain had begun to seep through the beige fabric of her sleeve, right at the site of the bandage. His jaw tightened, a flicker of worry crossing his features.

“Did your wound reopen?” he asked, his tone sharper than he intended.

“Probably when Bryce grabbed me. It’s fine. I’ll take care of it when I get home,” Riley reassured him, her voice steady.

To her, it was merely a small inconvenience—a little blood that would be dealt with in due time.

But Sebastian’s expression darkened further, his focus now zeroed in on Bryce, who was groaning as he struggled to push himself up from the ground.

“That was you?” Sebastian’s voice was cold, each word laced with a chilling contempt.

Bryce, still seething from the public humiliation, wasted no time in retaliating. “She’s probably the one who sent that message to smear Bella! I just asked her for her phone!”

Sebastian took a step closer, his presence imposing and unyielding. “You demanded her phone?” he asked, disbelief mingling with fury.

“Yeah! If she’s innocent, then what’s the big deal? Just show the phone and prove it!” Bryce shot back defiantly, but the bravado in his voice was faltering.

Sebastian halted right in front of him, an aura of danger radiating from him that sent a shiver down Bryce’s spine.

“You grabbed her with your right hand, didn’t you?” Sebastian’s gaze dropped to the blood staining Bryce’s fingertips, a silent accusation that hung heavily in the air.

Bryce followed his gaze, finally noticing the faint streaks of red. “I didn’t know she was hurt! If she had just handed me the—”

“She owes you nothing!” Sebastian interrupted, his voice cutting like a knife.

And then, before anyone could fully process the moment, a sharp crack echoed through the space.

In a swift, fluid motion, Sebastian seized Bryce’s wrist and twisted it, a sickening sound following as he snapped it with a decisive force.

Bryce collapsed to his knees, a look of shock and pain etched across his face as he clutched his arm, the unnatural angle of it a clear indication of the injury.

“Sebastian!” Bella’s voice rang out, filled with disbelief as she rushed forward. “You can’t just go around breaking bones! This is too much!”

Riley hesitated for a moment, and Sebastian’s stomach tightened with anxiety. After all, Bryce wasn’t just some random guy; he was the man Riley had once agreed to marry. If there were any lingering feelings…

A wave of dark, bitter jealousy coiled tightly in Sebastian’s chest.

Riley shrugged casually, though a playful glint sparkled in her eyes.

“What’s there to blame? I mean, sure, I don’t exactly endorse you going around breaking people’s bones,” her lips curved into a faint smile, “but let’s be real—I kicked him across the lawn first. So if we’re playing the blame game, I guess I should start with myself.”

In that moment, the storm brewing inside Sebastian calmed, all the jealousy and uncertainty dissipating like mist in the morning sun.

“Although… if Bryce decides to sue you…” Riley’s voice trailed off, a teasing lilt to her tone.

“Let him,” Sebastian replied, unfazed. “I ‘accidentally’ broke his arm. We’ll cover the medical bills. I can afford that much.”

Riley nodded, the truth of his words sinking in.

The Torres family’s legal team was renowned, one of the most elite in Washington. Bryce wouldn’t stand a chance if he dared to take Sebastian to court.

Back at the villa, Sebastian meticulously disinfected and redressed her wound, his brow still knit with concern. “If I’d known they’d come at you like that,” he muttered, “I never would’ve left your side.”

“I’m not exactly some delicate little flower who needs protection every second,” Riley chuckled, a playful glint in her eyes. “I slipped up. I gave Bryce an opening. That’s on me.”

Then, her expression shifted, and a spark of excitement lit up her face. “Besides…”
