**TITLE: Dreams Refuse Gravity by Leo Arden Knox**
**Chapter 188: She’s Just Using You**
Wren’s statement struck Quinten like a bolt from the blue, drawing a deep frown across his features. His sharp, penetrating gaze bore into her, as if trying to dissect her very soul. “I had no idea you possessed such a silver tongue, young lady,” he remarked, his tone carrying an undertone of skepticism.
Wren met his gaze with a defiant resolve, forcing the words out through the tightness in her throat. “I can’t help but feel sympathy for Bella. She has put in so much effort to construct her life, only for Riley to come in and shatter it all in a heartbeat.”
Quinten’s voice emerged, heavy with conviction. “It wasn’t Riley who destroyed her; Bella did that all on her own.” The scandal had erupted like wildfire in recent days, and Quinten had certainly heard the whispers echoing through the halls.
“Are you seriously suggesting that Riley is blameless in all of this?” Wren pressed, her voice thick with indignation. “She is Bella’s cousin, yet she took to that talk show like a vulture, picking at Bella’s wounds until she exploded and ended up getting kidnapped. If Riley hadn’t stirred the pot, none of this chaos would have unfolded! Or is it that having a powerful ally gives you carte blanche to act however you please in the Anderson family?”
By “ally,” of course, she was referring to Sebastian, the ever-charismatic figure who seemed to shield Riley from the consequences of her actions.
Wren’s true aim was clear: she wanted to incite a rebellion against Riley, to turn the tide of opinion among the Anderson family members.
This was no longer just a matter of defending Bella; it was personal. Wren was on a warpath, fueled by the recent humiliation her father had endured at the hands of Riley.
Before Quinten could respond, a cool, almost languid voice broke through the tension. It was Sebastian. “So, you believe that my support allows her to act with impunity, is that what you’re saying?” His tone was smooth, yet it carried an edge sharper than a knife.
Wren flinched at his words, her heart racing as she locked eyes with him. “Isn’t that exactly what’s happening? Riley has been running rampant because she knows you’re backing her. She even had the audacity to strike my father—her own uncle! She shows no respect. Sebastian, can’t you see? She’s merely using you.”
“Is that so?” A faint, almost amused smile played on Sebastian’s lips, as if Wren’s words were nothing more than a light-hearted jest. “If she is using me, then I would consider that a delightful situation.”
To him, the very notion that Riley needed him felt like a badge of honor, a testament to his worth.
Wren’s fury bubbled beneath the surface, her body trembling with rage. Sebastian’s nonchalance felt like a slap across her face, a public humiliation that left her reeling.
The whispers among the gathered Anderson family members had once been filled with speculation about the perfect match between Wren and Sebastian. Yet now, he was not merely admitting to a relationship with Riley; he was openly declaring his affection for her, leaving Wren feeling utterly invisible in the process.
