Divorced CEO's Forgotten Wife Strikes Back (Riley and Bryce) novel Chapter 204

**TITLE: Dreams Refuse Gravity by Leo Arden Knox**

Wren’s fingers closed around the photographs, snatching them away from the servant with an urgency that startled even herself. The images felt like a lifeline to a mystery she was desperate to unravel. So-Riley had been harboring these for who knows how long? An insatiable curiosity bubbled within her, and she felt a burning need to discover the identities captured in those fleeting moments.

There were only three photos, yet they contained a world of secrets. Each one featured the same man, a figure who seemed to pulse with life from the glossy paper. In two of them, he donned a crisp military uniform, the fabric taut against his form, exuding an air of authority and discipline. The third image, however, was a stark contrast; he stood bare-chested, caught in the throes of intense training, muscles rippling under the strain of exertion.

Wren’s eyes zeroed in on a jagged scar that marred his shoulder—a stark reminder of pain etched into his skin. Where had she seen that before? The thought tugged at her mind, sharp and insistent, like a whisper from the past. That scar… it felt hauntingly familiar, as if it were a piece of a puzzle she had yet to complete.

At the same time, Riley was navigating the streets with a sense of urgency, her heart racing as she drove Sebastian straight to the hospital. The weight of the situation bore down on her, and she felt a mix of anxiety and determination. She could hardly shake the image of him losing control, a storm of emotions swirling within him.

Upon their arrival, the doctor swiftly administered a sedative, a necessary measure to calm Sebastian’s frayed nerves. Only then did Felix Wayne arrive, despite the fact that he was still recovering from his own injuries sustained during the chaotic assassination attempt on Sebastian.

“Mr. Wayne? What brings you here?” Riley asked, her surprise evident in her voice. She was aware that he had been resting at home, nursing wounds of his own, and the sight of him here was unexpected.

“I’m fine now,” Felix replied quickly, brushing off her concern. “What happened to Mr. Torres? Why is he here?” His voice was steady, but Riley could detect an underlying tension.

“He lost control—because of a perfume,” Riley explained, her tone serious. “The doctor sedated him. He should be okay when he wakes up.”

Felix’s demeanor shifted, his expression stiffening. “Perfume? You don’t mean… that perfume?”

Riley’s brow furrowed as she pieced together his implication. “You’re referring to the one from when his mother died, right?”

Felix’s eyes widened, a flicker of realization crossing his features. “You… you know about it?”

Riley took a deep breath and recounted everything she had managed to pry from Wren, her voice steady as she laid bare the details.

“The perfume formula was supposed to be completely destroyed,” Felix said, disbelief lacing his words.

“Then you need to find out how she got her hands on it,” Riley insisted, her tone firm and resolute.

“Consider it done,” Felix replied, determination etched into his features.

“Also…” Riley’s gaze drifted to Sebastian, who lay unconscious in the hospital bed, vulnerability radiating from him. “Has he always gone crazy and tried to kill people when he smells it?”
