Chapter 248 Into a Full–on Catfight
Riley simply cupped Sebastian’s jaw. “Okny,” she said, her voice clear and steady.
The word had barely left her lips before she leaned in and pressed her mouth to his.

He exhaled softly, parting his lips in a quiet invitation for her to go deeper. She kissed him gently, her fingers still framing his face, until his arm slid around her waist and his other hand cradled the back of her head, pulling her closer.
Just as she was about to pull away, Sebastian suddenly took control–his mouth claiming hers in a fierce, consuming
kiss.
He kissed her like a starving man, like he needed to drink her in until there was nothing left.
“Mmh…” Riley tried to break free, but his lips only moved harder against hers, the intensity making her pulse race.
She knew she could push him away if she truly wanted to. But the raw hunger in his kiss… the desperate, unspoken plea in the way he held her… made it impossible to let go.
She didn’t know how long they stayed like that before he finally tore his mouth from hers, breath ragged. He leaned in, his lips brushing her ear as he whispered, “Riley… don’t leave me.”

She let out a quiet laugh, soft and warm. “Silly. Why would I ever leave you?”
His smile was faint, almost fragile. “That’s right. Why would you?”
His gare locked on hers, fierce and certain. “No one in this world will ever love you more than I do.”

After another long night, Riley met up with Lara for the project bidding. Lara gave her a once–over, her gaze lingering on Riley’s high–neck sweater, and smirked. “Rough night?”
Heat crept up Riley’s cheeks.
In bed. Sebastian was like a man possessed–hungry, relentless. No matter how much she gave, it never seemed enough. Sometimes she honestly wondered if he’d taken something.
And it wasn’t like she was fragile. But she still felt like her whole body had been taken apart and put back together.
If it had been anyone else… Well, there is no one else.
Sebastian had told her she was his first.

“Do you think guys go a little… crazy the first time they have sex?” Riley asked before she could stop herself.
“Probably,” Lara said, instantly flashing back to her own first time with Shawn.
Once that man had started, he’d been completely unhinged, all that polished, self–controlled energy flipping into pure, physical hunger.
Didn’t matter how refined a man looked–behind closed doors, he turned into a beast.
Wait a second…
Lara stared at Riley like she’d just solved a crime. “Hold on. Are you saying Sebastian has never been with anyone before you?”
Riley didn’t answer, but the look on her face was all the confirmation Lara needed.
“Oh my god,” Lara breathed.
A man like Sebastian–powerful, rich, devastatingly attractive. –had never touched another woman before Riley? That was almost impossible. And yet here Riley was, living proof.

“By the way, after we’re done here, you’re coming with me to church,” Lara announced.
“Church? What for?” Riley asked, puzzled.
“To pray and get rid of this bad luck,” Lara huffed.
She’d run into Shawn three times in just a few weeks–and twice, she’d been with Vince when it happened. Every time, Shawn’s timing had been impeccable… and by impeccable, she meant cursed.
Lara chose a well–known church in Washington.
They’d just started praying at the front of the nave when a shrill voice sliced through the quiet.
“Riley? What the hell are you doing here?”
Riley turned, meeting Amanda and Claire’s stares headon.
Her voice was calm, almost bored. “It’s a church. Anyone can
walk in. Why shouldn’t I?”

Claire gave a derisive snort. “Someone like you, begging God for help? Please, Must be all the guilt cating you alive. You’ve done so many awful things–that’s why you can’t find your brother, Karma.”
Lara’s head whipped around. “What is wrong with you? How can you say that?”
“My daughter’s right,” Amanda said, chin raised. “Otherwise, why hasn’t she found him after all these years?”
Lara opened her mouth to fire back, but Riley caught her arm.
