Chapter 259 I’m Divorced
“Let me make this clear,” Sebastian said, voice calm but lethal. “If anyone dares say my girlfriend wants another man, they’d better be ready to rot in prison. Or worse.”
This warning wasn’t just for the three Murphy family members but for everyone still watching.
The Murphys‘ faces immediately went pale.
Claire especially knew precisely what kind of power the Torres family wielded in Washington, and she spat out jealously, “But Riley’s just some divorced woman–how is she good enough for you, Mr. Torres? She’s nothing but Bryce’s leftovers.”
Sebastian’s eyes narrowed dangerously as he stared at Claire.
If this wasn’t such a public place, he would’ve beaten this woman half to death right here and now.
“Bryce couldn’t handle her if he tried!”
The three Murphy family members shuddered, but before they could even process what was happening, the court officers stepped forward and escorted Amanda and Claire away.
Now, their struggles meant nothing.
“Let’s go,” Riley said, pulling Sebastian away.
Bryce stood there awkwardly, enduring the curious steves from 5
everyone around him.

Sebastian’s words kept echoing in his ears-
He couldn’t handle Riley?

He used to be the closest person to her, but now he could only stand there helplessly watching Riley kiss Sebastian right in front of him.
And he didn’t even have the balls to stop it.

As Riley and Sebastian entered the car, Riley said, “I’m divorced. People are going to keep bringing this up.”
“So what? I’ve never cared whether you’ve been married before. I only care if you love me,” Sebastian replied.
Riley smiled, “I guess I was overthinking it.”
Sebastian reached up and gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “If I really cared about anything, it would be that I met you too late. If I’d found you earlier, I never would have let you marry Bryce.”
“You sure you would’ve liked me if you’d met me earlier?” Riley raised an eyebrow.
“I’m sure,” Sebastian said without hesitation. “Even if I
didn’t fall for you at first sight, every time we crossed paths, I would’ve been drawn to you. I would’ve fallen in love with you
eventually.”

People who lived in darkness both feared the light and craved it.
“We found each other now, and that’s not too late,” Riley said.
“Yeah, not too late…” Sebastian agreed.
But if they’d met earlier, if he’d known she was searching for Samuel back then… maybe he wouldn’t have made such a terrible choice.
Just then, Riley’s phone buzzed with an anonymous email.
Riley opened the message, and her face went pale as she read it.
“What’s wrong? What happened?” Sebastian caught the shift in Riley’s expression immediately.
“Can’t say right now,” Riley replied. “When I can talk about it, I’ll tell you.”
Sebastian’s eyes flickered with concern. “Alright.”
Since Sebastian had business to handle at the company, he dropped Riley off at her apartment before returning to work.
Watching his car disappear down the street, Riley reopened the email she’d received earlier.
[One hundred million dollars in three days, and I’ll give you information about your brother. Don’t tell anyone. Not even 3ebastian.]

Back in her apartment, Riley sat at her computer, staring at the anonymous email with furrowed brows.
Who sent this to me?
A hundred million dollars. Whoever sent this knew damn well she didn’t have that kind of cash.
But if they were asking for it, they expected her to get it from Sebastian.
Yet they specifically warned her not to tell Sebastian.
So this person probably knew both of them.
Riley checked the account details immediately.
It was an offshore account where money could be withdrawn instantly with a password, which was completely untraceable once transferred.
But the bigger question was whether this person actually had information about Samuel, or if they were just playing on her desperation.
The thought of Samuel made her chest tighten, each breath sending waves of pain through her.
She simply responded: [Why should I believe you have anything on my brother?]
To her surprise, another email arrived quickly, containing no 465ds-just a surveillance video.

The footage was only three seconds long, but the figure captured in those brief moments made Riley’s heart stop–she recognized Samuel instantly!
He wore laltered, blood–stained clothes that looked like he’d been through hell.
The video was too blurry to make out the buildings or where it was taken.
When Riley tried emailing for a better clip, she found out the sender’s temporary address had already been ditched.
In other words, this was their way of telling her that if she wanted more detailed information, she’d have to wire the money to their offshore account first.
One hundred million dollars–if it could buy her leads on Samuel,‘ she’d pay it without hesitation.
She could borrow from Sebastian, or get a bank loan–if she’d managed to take Bryce’s company public in three years, she could figure out how to pay back this debt.
