Chapter 337 His Dark Sid
Lucky Draw
“It is the middle of the night. Why are you suddenly drinking?” Riley said.
“I can’t sleep, so I want a drink,” Sebastian said.
“When you can’t sleep, do you often drink?” she asked.
“Not usually. Just tonight,” he said.
She continued drying his hair. When it was nearly half dry, she removed the towel.
He walked to the bar, poured himself a glass of liquor, and tossed it back in one swallow.
“You-” Riley tried to stop him, but it was too late.
“Don’t worry. This amount will not do anything to me.” He spoke again and poured himself another glass.
Riley stepped forward and pressed her fingers over the rim. “Drinking like that is bad for you.”
“So you care whether my body gets hurt? Just like during the day when you checked my injuries,” he said, staring at her. “Riley, do you really not care about me at all?”
Riley considered her words. “If I said I did not care at all, that

She had not finished when he suddenly leaned toward her.
Caught off guard, her lips brushed against his in a touch so light that it barely counted as a kiss.
Riley froze.
Sebastian said, “Stop talking. If you continue, you’ll only make me feel even more pitiful.”
Riley pressed her lips together and abruptly changed the subject. “Did you hand the project to the Lincoln family on purpose so that Zane would come to Washington?”
Sebastian said calmly, “What if I tell you I did?”
“Because of me?”

He paused. “I was hoping that after seeing what I’ve done, you might soften toward me and give us another chance.”
Riley stiffened. It felt like Sebastian had laid out his calculations

She turned away and stood up. “In two days, you’re supposed to take me off this island and send me home. I hope you’ll keep your word. And from now on, when we meet, you may call me Ms. Anderson.”
Sebastian’s expression dimmed.
So she’s rejecting me again?
As Riley began to walk up the stairs toward the bedroom, Sebastian called out, “Is it true? No matter what I do, you’ll never take me back?”
Riley looked over her shoulder. “I told you. Trust is easy to destroy and incredibly hard to rebuild.”
“So, even if I kneel in front of you right now and beg, even if I give you everything I have–even the entire Torres Group–you still wouldn’t take me back?”
“I don’t want any of that.”
His gaze darkened into something shadowed. “Then who do you want to be with?”
“That is my private matter,” she said. “If there’s nothing else, I’m going upstairs to sleep.”

“Riley, I can break the agreement” Sebasti
‘d suddenly.
“What?” Riley looked at him in shock.
“I can keep you on this island. I can make sure you can’t leave. It can be just the two of us here until the day you love me and believe in me again.” His lips moved with quiet precision as he revealed the most shadowed part of his heart.
Riley’s eyes hardened. “So what you’re telling me is that I was wrong to place trust in you at all.
He stepped toward her, one measured step at a time. “If you don’t want me to do that, then say it now. Tell me you can trust me again. Tell me you’re willing to be with me again.”
“We are not a match. I can’t trust you completely,” Riley said, her voice cold. “And do you really think you can trap me?”
If she wanted to leave this island, she would find a way. It was just a matter of time.
“Completely trust someone?” Sebastian let out a faint, humorless laugh. “Who in this world can completely trust anyone?”
“My parents can,” Riley said with absolute conviction. “They trust each other without reservation. They built a life together. And I told you before that I want the kind of love they have.”

“Sebastian, I told you from the very beginning what I wanted.”
“Yes, you did. And I can give it to you. I can learn to give complete trust. I can tell you every calculation and every scheme. But just because of one mistake, am I supposed to lose you forever?” he said.
She lowered her gaze. “Sebastian, it is over between us. I only hope you will keep your promise and take me home in two days. Don’t destroy the last bit of trust I have left in you.”
