Chapter 361 Kill Me
From this height, Sebastian could see only the small silhouettes of two people, yet he knew exactly who they were.
His grip on the cup tightened until every knuckle cracked. A fierce wave of jealousy surged through him without warning.
“I am not my father. I am not.” He repeated the sentence under his breath again and again.
It was as if those words were the only tether keeping his sanity from slipping, the only thing stopping him from becoming a true madman.

The next morning, when Riley stepped out of her building, Sebastian’s car was already waiting at the curb.
The driver exited immediately and opened the back door with a respectful posture. “Ms. Anderson, please.”
Riley nodded and climbed in, settling beside Sebastian in the back seat.
“Now, can you tell me where we are going?” she asked once the car merged onto the main road.

Riley stared at him, taken aback. She knew his mother was deceased, so it became clear he meant to bring her to Audrey’s
grave.
Half an hour later, she stood before the gray stone marker and felt a complicated ache stir in her chest.
Just two days earlier, she had gone with Samuel to visit her own parents‘ resting place. Now she was standing with Sebastian before his mother’s grave.
A black–and–white portrait of a young, radiant woman looked back at her from the polished stone.
Riley recognized Audrey immediately.
“Why did you bring me here?” she asked quietly.
During the brief time she had dated Sebastian, she had imagined a moment like this. She had thought that, on anniversaries or memorial days, they might come together to
honor his mother.
They never did. Now, after they had ended everything, here she
was.
“I wanted my mother to see you,” Sebastian said as he lowered his eyes to the gravestone.

Now it felt more like completing an unfinished promise. In front of Audrey’s grave, he intended to make a vow.
“Riley, I will not let you become like my mother.”
She blinked. “What does that mean?”
“It means you should stay as far away from me as possible. Stay out of my reach. If I lose control, I want to know I cannot harm you.”
Her brows drew together. “What are you talking about?”
“I am saying that I do not know how much longer I can keep myself from pulling you back,” he said. His insomnia had worsened, his mind fraying thread by thread.
His rationality despised the man Gregory had been and insisted on the right path, yet Sebastian no longer trusted
himself.
One day, the restraint might snap, and he might become exactly what he feared, a man as extreme and unhinged as his
father.
Riley stared at him, startled, as he went on. “If there ever comes a day when I become like my father and do something you hate, then you should hit me with everything you have. If it comes to it, even if you cripple me or kill me, I will accept it.” 3/6

“Nothing. Nothing has happened,” he replied.
“Are you sleeping poorly? Is that why you are saying things like this?” Riley asked.
She had noticed the dark circles beneath his eyes, deeper than before. His sleep had clearly deteriorated.
Sebastian pressed his lips together but did not answer.
“Have you been seeing a doctor?” she asked again.
“I have.”
“Which doctor? Do you have a contact number?” she pressed.
“You plan to take me to a doctor?” he asked, almost incredulous.
“Yes,” she said firmly.
“I told you to stay away from me. When we leave this cemetery, you should…” he began.
“Stop talking and give me the doctor’s contact information,” she cut in.
He glared at her but said nothing.

Sure enough, when she asked, Felix answered immediately. “Dr. Thomas Monroe. I will send you his number.”
“Thank you,” Riley said before ending the call. She turned back to Sebastian. “I am taking you to see Dr. Monroe this afternoon.”
“Why bother? We are no longer together. You do not owe me anything,” he said.
“We may be broken up, but I still refuse to let you reach a point where you lose yourself completely. Is that reason enough?” she replied.
The words he had spoken earlier had unsettled her deeply.
It felt as if he were warning her that one day he would become a danger, not out of cruelty but out of something spiraling beyond his control.
Riley stepped closer to the gravestone and bowed her head respectfully. “I am sorry, Audrey. We came on short notice, and I did not bring flowers. I will bring them next time.”
Next time?
Sebastian glanced at her. A complex emotion flickered through him.
5/6,
Will there truly be a next time?

“Come on,” Riley said as she straightened.
He remained unmoving, so she took his hand and pulled him gently toward the cemetery gates.
