Divorced CEO's Forgotten Wife Strikes Back (Riley and Bryce) novel Chapter 388

Chapter 388 Get Back Together With Him

“Yes,” Riley answered, watching him with confusion.

“How did you come to have this necklace?” Thomas asked urgently.

“Why wouldn’t I?” Riley countered. “It’s my mother’s.”

“Your mother’s?” Thomas repeated. “But wasn’t this necklace traded away overseas back then in exchange for supplies?”

Riley froze. “How do you know about that?”

Her question confirmed it for him. This necklace really was the one Sebastian had been searching for all these years.

When they were younger, Thomas had seen Sebastian carefully draw this exact necklace. He had found it strange at the time. Sebastian had never cared for jewelry, yet he had been so meticulous with that sketch.

“If I can find this necklace someday,” Sebastian had said back then, “maybe I can repay that little girl.”

“Repay her?” Thomas had asked.

“Yes” Sebastian ronlied. “It was her mother’s necklace Sho

Back then, all Thomas had noticed was that when Sebastian said those words, his eyes were no longer as cold and lifeless as usual. For the first time, there was something alive in them.

“Do you want to live?” Thomas had asked quietly.

“I do not know,” Sebastian answered. “But I am curious. If I ever meet her again one day, would she save me again? Would she want me to live?

Those questions had gone unanswered at the time. But now, Thomas knew the answer.

The answer was a “Yes“.

The little girl who had once saved Sebastian was Riley.

And when they met again years later, Riley still chose to save him. She still wanted him to live.

So that was it. No wonder Sebastian always said that the person who saved him had always been Riley.

Their connection had started far earlier than anyone realized.

That was why Sebastian was willing to risk his life for her without hesitation.

“There was a little girl overseas who saved his life,” Thomas explained slowly. “He knew the necklace belonged to her mother, so he wanted to find it and return it to her as a way of saying thank you. He searched for years but never found it. He never imagined it had already come back to you.”

A wave of unease washed over Riley. “What did he do? Dr. Monroe, do you know where he is? I need to see him.”

Thomas looked at her but did not answer right away. Instead, he asked, “Riley, what exactly do you feel for Sebastian? You broke up with him, yet you keep wanting to see him. And if you do see him, what then?”

“If he is willing,” Riley said firmly, “I want to get back together with him.”

“And if he is not?” Thomas shot back.

Riley fell silent. If Sebastian truly no longer loved her, if he had completely let go, could she walk away cleanly?

Could she really do what she had done before?

With Bryce, she had been able to divorce him without hesitation, without looking back.

But why did the thought of Sebastian not loving her make her ghest ache? Why did she hesitate, unable to decide? W

listen to me. Even if Sebastian says no, you should not let him go. You grab him and tell him you are staying together. If he still refuses, I do not care if you tie him up or drug him. Since you have decided to be with him again, you cannot let him walk away.”

Riley stared at Thomas in disbelief. He looked utterly fed up, as if the moment she gave the wrong answer, he might actually drag Sebastian straight to her himself.
