Divorced CEO's Forgotten Wife Strikes Back (Riley and Bryce) novel Chapter 403

Chapter 403 One Month

Sebastian fell quiet. Maybe she was right—staying close to him might actually keep her safer right now.

But he was scared he'd lose control completely and fall for her all over again.

"Aren't you afraid I'm just like my father?" He stared at her intently. "I mean, I've manipulated you before. I kept you trapped on that island, took away your freedom, and did things you hated. What if staying with me like this just makes me do something even worse?"

"You won't," Riley said simply.

He laughed bitterly. "How can you be so sure? Do you really think you know me? How much of my dark side have you actually seen? You—"

She pressed her finger to his lips. "Maybe I don't know everything about you yet, but I'm learning more every day. You want to know why I'm so sure? Because I choose to believe in you."

His eyes widened.

Her lips moved, words spilling out. "You told me you wanted to be a good person. I believed you then, and I still do."

She held his gaze. "You're nothing like your father. Yes, you kept me on that island—but you let me go. You made the right choice." Her voice softened. "And someday, when you have kids, you'll be nothing like him. You'll be the father you never had."

She took a breath, her tone growing fierce. "Don't believe his lies, Sebastian. You told me my love wasn't enough—that it could never match yours. Let me prove you wrong. I'll show you how much I love you, and that what we have is worth another chance."

He stared at her, speechless. Her words seemed to quiet all the chaos in his head.

Could they really have another chance? Would she actually stay this time?

Finally, he whispered, "How would you prove it?"

"Let me stay with you. Give us time." Riley's voice was steady. "If you push me away now, you'll never know how I really feel about you. Don't you want to know?"

Something flickered in his eyes.

She'd hit exactly what he was curious about, what he wanted most.

Yeah, he needed to know—just how much did she actually love him?

He looked at her closely. "Time? How much time?"

"Six months," Riley said. That's what she'd agreed on with her brother Samuel—the timeframe for Sebastian to donate stem cells for Lina.

Six months should be enough to convince him she really loved him, not just because of guilt or because he could save Lina.

If she showed him enough love, it should calm his fears and make him believe her.

"Six months is way too long," Sebastian refused.
