Divorced CEO's Forgotten Wife Strikes Back (Riley and Bryce) novel Chapter 92

**TITLE: Dreams Refuse Gravity by Leo Arden Knox 92**
**CONTENT: Chapter 92 Eat Together**

Riley found herself momentarily disoriented, her thoughts scattered like leaves in the wind. Just as she was about to take another bite of her meal, she noticed Sebastian making his way toward their table, his confident stride drawing her attention like a magnet.

Before she could fully process his presence, he was standing directly in front of her and her friends, a casual yet commanding figure.

“Hey, I haven’t eaten yet. Mind if I join you?” he asked, his tone light but unmistakably earnest.

“Whoa?” Lara exclaimed, her eyes widening in disbelief. “Mr. Torres, you wanna eat here?”

“Yeah. What’s wrong with that?” Sebastian shot back, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes as he met Lara’s surprised gaze.

Lara instinctively turned to look at Riley, whose expression was a mix of surprise and curiosity.

“Sure, why not?” Riley responded with a nonchalant shrug, raising her hand to signal the waiter for an extra set of tableware.

With an air of effortless grace, Sebastian took a seat directly across from Vince, who sat rigidly, his demeanor shifting to one of guarded observation.

The four of them formed a square around the table, an uneasy tension hanging in the air like a thick fog. Riley could sense the palpable discomfort radiating between Sebastian and Vince, their eyes locked in a silent standoff that seemed to stretch on indefinitely.

Lara, caught in the middle, glanced back and forth between the two men, her throat tightening as she tried to find a way to lighten the mood. Clearing her throat, she opened her mouth to speak, but Vince was quicker on the draw.

“Well, Mr. Torres, what a coincidence! Didn’t expect to run into you here,” he remarked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

“Not really a coincidence. I just finished some business here and came to find Riley,” Sebastian replied, his tone cool and collected, as if the tension were nothing more than a passing breeze.

“Riley?” Vince’s brow furrowed, confusion mingling with irritation.

Lara nearly choked on a piece of her food, her mind racing. No way! Did Sebastian just call her Riley? Sure, many people did, but she never expected Sebastian to drop the formalities. He had always referred to her as Ms. Anderson, maintaining a professional distance. But now, there was a playful, almost flirtatious tone in the way he said her name that sent a shiver of surprise down Lara’s spine.

“Who gave you the okay to call her Riley?” Vince shot a glare at Sebastian, his protective instincts flaring.

Sebastian met his gaze without flinching. “She did.”

Both Lara and Vince turned their attention to Riley, their expressions a mix of disbelief and curiosity.

“Rye? You let him call you that?” Vince asked, his voice rising slightly, as if trying to wrap his head around the sudden shift in dynamics.

“Yeah,” Riley confirmed with a nod, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. “It’s easier that way.” After all, their arrangement was only for three months, so why not keep things simple?

Vince’s gaze softened momentarily, as if he were lost in thought, weighing the implications of this new development.

“Hey, guys. The food’s gonna get cold if you don’t dig in,” Riley urged, trying to steer the conversation back to safer waters.

“Yeah, yeah, let’s eat!” Lara declared, diving back into her meal with renewed enthusiasm, eager to distract herself from the brewing tension.
