Divorced My Cheating Husband, Married A Billionaire novel Chapter 88

Brian and his manager-employee arrived at the Mega Mall at about 1 p.m. Although they knew the opening ceremony was in the morning, they avoided the crowd.

Anyone could quickly identify them. Brian did not want their new competitor to discover how they were checking their items. Also, Brian was uncertain if he was ready to see Riley again.

He hid in one mall area with a perfect view of the store. In his mind, he read, 'Adley.'

From afar, he saw Riley walking in the direction of the store. The sight of her made Brian's heart gallop.

'Was this Riley?' To his surprise, Riley looked very happy and confident. It reminded him of the Riley he once fell in love with. Her beauty radiated, and she looked refined in her white business attire. The men around her stared at her in awe.

Brian felt his throat become dry. For a fleeting moment, he felt jealous. He wanted to punch the men who were eyeing Riley!

"Fuck, what am I doing?" When he realized what he was thinking, Brian closed his eyes and imagined Claire. He envisioned the time he would spend with his child, trying to convince himself that he had made the right choice. Sadly, when he opened his eyes, he still felt regretful upon seeing Riley.

"Look, Mr. Martin, it's your ex-wife! We should verify if her previous designs were used in this new company," the manager proposed.

What he saw next surprised him. Zia was there!

A hiss left Brian's lips. While he knew Zia had always favored Riley, he did not expect them to become good friends. He asked himself, 'Have they been in touch all this time?'

He also saw Renee, and another kind of emotion surged within him. Riley's mother treated him like a son. In fact, Brian recalled how much he loved Renee. It was unfortunate, but what was he to do? He fell in love with Claire, a young woman who granted his dream of becoming a father.

"They are leaving, Mr. Martin. Shall we check it out?" the manager suggested.

Brian watched as Riley escorted her mother and Zia out of the store and toward the lift. With Riley gone, they took the golden opportunity to inspect the jewelry at Adley & Co.

When Brian saw the display, Brian felt betrayed! The jewelry sold at Adley & Co. was superior to the designs Riley had created for Brey.

'Did Riley hold back on me?' Brian speculated, his heart slowly becoming filled with resentment.

The display featured a stunning array of unique jewelry pieces that combined artistry and elegance.

The Enchanted Garden Collection was at the center. It featured nature-inspired jewelry. Each piece was adorned with tiny, intricately carved flowers and leaves, set with vibrant gemstones such as emeralds, rubies, and sapphires.

On the right, the Oceanic Treasures Set showcased pieces inspired by the sea. To the left was the Art Deco Glamour, which featured geometric shapes, bold lines, and vibrant colors. There were five unique themes to choose from, and of course, there was the good old modern yet minimalistic style.

Just when Brian had seen enough, a couple caught his eye. He thought they were very familiar. Later, he realized they were his previous regular clients, Mr. and Mrs. Ventura.

Brian watched in envy as the wealthy couple made several purchases. He overheard them saying, "We also ordered two pieces in advance from Riley. Are they available now?"

"Sir, did you hear that? I think your ex-wife might have solicited Mr. and Mrs. Ventura. It's no wonder they rejected our jewelry," the sales manager suggested.

Brian was already burning in rage at what he had discovered, so when Riley returned, getting close to the Venturas, he lost it.

Whether Adrian had moved on from Riley or not, the man clearly still hated his guts. So, Brian chose to lie. He answered, "I went there to pray - yeah. I wanted to pray. I - I have to go!"

Brian left, afraid to discuss anything further with Adrian. He drove fast and arrived at his office building in less than twenty minutes. His shoulders fell, and he was relieved to be safe from Adrian, but after that, he wondered, "What was Adrian doing there?"

The image of Riley flashed in his mind, and he muttered, "Could he have gone there for—No. I think Adrian married Leni Eros in secret. Why would he go see Riley? Yeah. It's the Mega Mall, Brian. Everyone goes to the Mega Mall now and then, even Adrian King."

At Brian's office, he and his team deliberated about the new competitor. Never mind the designs. They all knew that Riley was capable of creating beautiful pieces. They did, however, cover the potential clients that Riley might have stolen.

"Come to think of it, many of our clients became aware that Riley was gone when we did not make a formal announcement," the sales manager pointed out.

"Mr. Ace was always a fan of Riley," another supervisor pitched in. "Maybe he is her financer?"

"No one has ever seen Mr. Ace? Who is he?"

"Maybe he is an old rich man with many mistresses; that's why he buys too much jewelry!"

"Mr. Martin, what if this is Miss Allen's revenge?"

After considering what his team had to say, Brian instructed, "I need someone to find out who owns Adley & Co. Then, reach out to the previous clients who rejected our offer. Find out if Riley persuaded them to buy from Adley & Co., especially Mr. Ace. If we find out that Riley did, then... we have a case."
