Dahlia saw the determined gleam in Camilla's eyes, and the anxiety that had been weighing her down finally dissipated.
Magee cleared his throat, cutting straight to the chase. "These are the top specialists in Valdoria I could reach. We've discussed two potential recovery plans for Tanner. The final decision is up to you."
Hearing that Magee had brought the plans so quickly, a wave of excitement washed over Camilla.
Elise couldn't be kept in the dark for much longer. Camilla only hoped that Tanner's surgery could be completed soon so she could return to Elise.
Camilla and the others followed Magee into an office at the hospital. Magee turned on his tablet and displayed the two plans in front of her. "Tanner's limbs have been severed for years, and the surrounding muscles have completely atrophied. It won't be easy to fit perfectly matching prosthetics in a short amount of time.
"I still recommend the first plan: rest, restore muscle vitality, and then slowly consider the prosthetics.
"The second plan is too aggressive. While it would restore his mobility faster, it carries a high risk of incompatibility and inevitable long-term complications.
"Take your time and think it over, Camilla."
The plans were filled with medical jargon she didn't fully understand, but from Magee's explanation, she knew the first option was gentler and much safer.
"If we go with the first plan, how long will it take?" Camilla asked.
Magee replied, "Factoring in the treatment and rehabilitation, it will take over a year for him to gradually get out of bed and walk. However, this plan minimizes the complications. As long as he avoids heavy physical exertion, he will look no different from anyone else."
This was undoubtedly the best option.
But a whole year...
Camilla knew she couldn't hide this from Elise for that long. She needed to discuss it with Tanner.
"I'll take you to see my dad," Camilla said. "Don't mention the second plan to him. Just help me persuade him to accept the first one. Also, arrange for a few therapists to counsel him so he agrees to let me take him back first."
She had finally found her father; there was no way she would risk his health.
Since Magee had provided two options, she was naturally going to choose the better one.
Half an hour later, Camilla returned to Tanner's hospital room.
