Emmy had no idea what was running through his mind. She was already drawn in by the notes he’d jotted down. Her whole vibe shifted as she pointed at a few lines on the screen.
“You’re right. The resort’s AI system is super advanced, but handling the glitches could definitely be a lot better.”
As soon as things turned professional, the easygoing dinner turned into a full-on tech talk. Technical terms started flying back and forth across the table, and Harlene looked completely lost.
She finished off her seafood as fast as she could, waved her hand, and said, “You two go ahead. I’m just a regular girl and I need some cute guys by the beach in my life.”
Then she slipped out quickly.
Neither Emmy nor John even noticed her leave. They were deep into their discussion, so much so that Emmy ended up sending Penny to the room to fetch her laptop. The plates got pushed aside, replaced by two laptops casting a soft blue glow across the table.
…
On the other side of the hotel, James finally had a little breathing room from work. He returned to the penthouse suite, only to find it empty. No Emmy.
“Where’s my wife?” he asked the robot stationed by the door.
The robot’s eyes flickered as it scanned for a moment. “Madam is having dinner in the restaurant downstairs with Mr. John.”
James checked the time. It was already eleven thirty and she was still with that blond guy? His expression darkened. Without another word, he headed straight for the elevator.
When he reached the restaurant, it was practically deserted. One lonely floor lamp in the corner was still on. In its gentle yellow light, Emmy and John sat close together, both completely wrapped up in whatever was on their screens.
James pressed his lips together and walked quietly toward them. He stopped right behind their chairs, but the two were so locked into problem-solving mode they hadn’t even noticed someone was standing behind them.
“If we tweak this algorithm,” John said, “we’ll cut down energy consumption by thirty percent, and the response time will be twice as fast.”
“Yes, that’s exactly what I was thinking. Maybe we could even try…” Emmy answered, totally caught up in the moment.
James stood and listened for a bit. The envy that had crept into him started to fade. It was obvious from the way John looked at Emmy that while there was some admiration, it was mostly like seeing a fellow tech geek, someone who totally got him. The intensity between them was all brain, not heart.

chapter 1251 has no wording, just the chapter number...
What I was dreading the most just happened, I think I need to move on from this story and read something else. This story is breaking my heart....
CHAPTER 1220 HAS NO WORDING JUST THE CHAPTER NUMBER...
Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
I enjoy reading this. I like that the storyline isn’t drawn out and moves on. I also appreciate chapters being added almost everyday, thank you....
