Then she glanced at Nancy. “Nancy, did you notice anything?”

“Mom was so sick, I never saw Dr. Jamison crack a smile the whole time,” Nancy replied. “Don’t stress, Mom. Dr. Jamison’s coming over tomorrow, so you’ll have plenty of chances to see for yourself.”

Nancy gently tucked the blanket around Mrs. Berenson. “Nancy’s right, Mom. Try not to overthink it. If Dr. Jamison really is our Arie, she’s not going to slip away from us.”

With a smile, Nancy added, “That girl isn’t just beautiful and classy-she’s got great manners and is just so likable. If she really is our Arie, it’d be a dream come true.”

Honestly, Nancy just felt a natural affection for Nerissa she couldn’t quite explain.

If Nerissa really turned out to be Arie, Nancy would totally treat her like her own daughter, no question.

Chloe nodded in agreement. “I like her too. With New Year coming up, if Dr. Jamison really is Arie, we’ll finally have something to celebrate as a family!”

Verena and Jessica each took one of Nerissa’s hands, one on each side. “Dr. Jamison, don’t forget our appointment

tomorrow.”

“Thank you both for your kindness. I promise I won’t be late tomorrow,” Nerissa replied with a smile.

“Great, we’ll send a car to pick you up tomorrow.”

Verena and Jessica just adored Nerissa-the more they saw her, the more they liked her.

They both wished she could be their own daughter.

Watching Nerissa walk away, Jessica spoke up, “Victor, Verena, Joel, do you think she’s really Arie?”

“Yes, I’m sure of it!” Joel said, his eyes full of conviction. “I just have this feeling-she’s definitely got Berenson blood in her
