Dumped Then Claimed By A Billionaire (Nerissa and Owen) novel Chapter 52

Chapter 52 Will I See Arie Again?

Gianna was still feeling pretty smug when Wendy’s voice suddenly shrieked through the phone. “Gianna, you evil bitch! This is all your fault! If you hadn’t talked me into messing with Ms. Jamison and Mr. Beaumont, I never would’ve pissed off Ms. Jenkins’ savior!”

Wendy’s voice shook with fury. “You’re such a snake. Why don’t you just go to hell? Just you wait. I’m not letting this go

Gianna froze and quickly stood up from the bathtub. Her face went pale. “Wait, what? Wendy, is there some kind of misunderstanding?”

“Misunderstanding my ass! You screwed me over big time, and you’re gonna pay for it. I lost my job because of you, so don’ t think you’re getting off easy.”

Before Gianna could figure out what was happening, Wendy hung up the phone.

Gianna stared at her phone, feeling a knot of unease forming in her stomach. She tried calling back, but Wendy just rejected it.

Gianna narrowed her eyes. She’d caught something Wendy said about a savior, and Yvonne’s name had come up, too. ‘Wait, is Nerissa Ms. Jenkins’ savior?’ she thought.

But she quickly dismissed the ridiculous idea. ‘No way. How old is Nerissa anyway? There’s no way she could be Ms. Jenkins’ savior.’

Gianna tried to calm herself down and grabbed a towel to dry off. She decided she’d find time tomorrow to track down Wendy and get to the bottom of this mess.

Gianna had just changed into her pajamas when someone started pounding on her door. She frowned. ‘Who the hell is that?’ she thought. ‘There’s a doorbell right there, but no, they’ve gotta bang on the door like some kind of maniac.'”

Gianna opened the door and found Wendy standing there, absolutely furious. “Wendy, what are you-”

She didn’t even get to finish her sentence before Wendy’s hand flew across her face.

The slap left Gianna completely stunned.

But Wendy wasn’t done. She shoved Gianna hard and sent her crashing to the floor. Then Wendy climbed on top of her and started hitting her over and over. “You did this on purpose, didn’t you, Gianna?” Wehdy screamed.

“You knew Nerissa saved Ms. Jenkins’ life, and you still made me go after her. Now Ms. Jenkins kicked me out of the lab, and you’re happy about it, aren’t you?”

“You little bitch. I’m gonna kill you.”

Wendy kept slapping Gianna’s face until it swelled up beyond recognition. What made it even worse was that Wendy wouldn’t let her explain anything at all.

Within seconds, Gianna and Wendy were fighting on the floor.

At Calloway Group, Owen let out a cold laugh when he heard that Nerissa and Clive had been kicked out of Yvonne’s research institute. “I knew it. Kinsbeat Game will never amount to anything.”

‘They thought they could meet Ms. Jenkins? What a joke,’ he thought.

Owen turned to Yale. “By the way, how’s the search going for Ms. Jenkins’ savior?”

Yale looked troubled. “Still no news so far.”

He continued, “Owen, whoever saved Ms. Jenkins has to be some kind of reclusive expert. Those types are impossible to track down, and even Ms. Jenkins herself doesn’t have any leads

Owen’s expression grew thoughtful.

The current situation worked in their favor. The longer Yvonne couldn’t find her savior, the more urgent it became for Calloway Group to find them first, and that would put Yvonne in their debt.

“Keep looking. Don’t stop until we find Ms. Jenkins’ savior.”

“Got it, Owen.” Yale nodded.

“What about Nerissa? Has she contacted you?’ wen

Yale shook his head. “Not yet.”

Successfully unlocked!

Owen narrowed his eyes with a look of complete disdain. “She’s got some nerve, staying quiet like this.”

‘But Nerissa won’t be able to keep it up much longer,’ he thought. ‘After all, tomorrow night at 8 PM is my engagement party with Audrey.’

Thinking about this, Owen looked up at Yale. “Is everything going smoothly with the engagement party preparations?”

“Very smoothly,” Yale answered.

Owen continued, “Make sure you arrange extra security staff, and if Nerissa shows up tomorrow to crash the wedding, don’ t let her hurt Audrey no matter what.”

Yale glanced at Owen. “Owen, honestly, I don’t think Nerissa’s gonna show up.”

“I’m about to get engaged to Audrey and she won’t come? You’re giving her way too much credit.” Owen let out a mocking smile, and his face was full of contempt.

The next day, Yvonne personally went to Kinsbeat Game Company to sign the contract.

After signing the contract, Clive checked his watch. “Ms. Jenkins, I made a reservation at a restaurant, and I’d really. appreciate it if you could join me for dinner tonight.”

“Mr. Beaumont, I really appreciate the offer, but I’ve got a 1:30 flight to Kindowen this afternoon,” Yvonne said. “How about this? When I get back, you bring Ms. Jamison along and I’ll treat you both to dinner.”

Clive nodded. “Alright then. Let me have my driver take you to the airport.”

“No need.” Yvonne waved him off. “My driver’s waiting downstairs.”

Clive walked her down to the lobby, and sure enough, her car was right there waiting. She got in and headed straight to the airport, and soon she was on the plane to Kindowen.

The flight landed right on schedule at 3:30 PM.

Yvonne was here for a meeting, but that wasn’t until the next morning at nine. She’d deliberately kept her afternoon free so she could visit an old friend, and she’d brought some special treats from Aosthorne as gifts.

The taxi pulled up to Sullivan Manor and came to a stop.

The friend Yvonne was visiting was Tiffany. They’d grown up together, close as sisters, and even after they’d both built their own careers and started their own families, they’d stayed in touch.

Luna came out to greet her.

“You’re here in Kindowen and you didn’t even give me a heads up?” Luna said. “I could’ve sent someone to pick you up from the airport.”

Yvonne smiled, “That’s exactly why I didn’t tell you. I didn’t want to be a bother.”

She handed Luna a bag of local specialties. “Your mom’s favorite. Where is she, by the way?”

Luna’s expression shifted with concern. “Mom’s been having these headaches for the past few days and they haven’t

gotten any better. The doctor told her to stay out of the wind, so she’s been inside.”.

Yvonne’s face tightened with worry. “She’s not feeling well? What did the doctor say exactly?”

“He said it’s just headaches from stress and nerves,” Luna explained. “Nothing serious. You don’t need to worry.”

Yvonne nodded but picked up her pace. “Let’s hurry then. I want to see her.”

Tiffany had been through a great deal over the years. She’d lost her husband young, and then Leo fell into a coma in middle age. Charlotte and her only granddaughter, Ariel, had vanished without a trace.

Yvonne walked faster, and Luna quickened her steps to keep up.

Sullivan Manor sprawled across acres of land. After they passed through the main gates, they took a car for another five minutes before they reached Tiffany’s room.

Anna was in the bedroom taking care of Tiffany when they arrived.

She stood up from the bedside as soon as she saw Yvonne. “Hello, Ms. Jenkins.”

“It’s been so long, Anna. You’re getting more beautiful every time I see you.”

“Thank you for the compliment, Ms. Jenkins.”

Tiffany looked at Yvonne. “If Ariel were here, don’t you think she’d be just as beautiful as Anna? Ariel was gorgeous even as a baby.”

She continued, “When she was barely a month old, her eyes were like big grapes and she had such a high nose bridge. Everyone said she looked like a little doll.”

Something flickered in Anna’s lowered eyes.

Luna frowned slightly. She thought, ‘Arie, Arie. Mom only knows Arie, but Anna’s the one taking care of her right now, not

Arie.’

Yvonne smiled and nodded. “Of course. Arie must be just as beautiful as Anna.”

She continued, “Tiff, is your headache bad? Do you want me to take you to the hospital?”

“I’m fine. It’s just an old problem,” Tiffany said and shook her head.

Luna spoke up at the right moment. “Mom, you two keep talking. Anna and I are going to head out, but call me if you need anything.”

“Okay, you can go,” Tiffany said.

Luna walked out with Anna following behind her.

After Luna and Anna left, Tiffany looked at Yvonne with red-rimmed eyes. “Yvonne, I keep dreaming that Charlotte comes back with Arie these days. Do you think I’ll ever see Arie again in this lifetime?”
