Chapter 125
From a perspective focused solely on relationships, her words made sense.
Jason’s face was like frozen ice. He said coldly, “They have no inappropriate relationship.”
He had been suspicious before. But after seeing Sophia and Summer’s chat last night, and after hearing Xander’s words, he believed it. Yet, with Xander’s blatant protection, wouldn’t she eventually fall for him?
Jason felt uneasy, dreading the future…
“In your eyes, she’s so pure, she could never cheat?” Seeing his distraction, Tanner knew he was thinking about Sophia again. She clenched her fists, gnashing her teeth. Every time Jason spoke up for Sophia, it enraged her.
Jason looked at her and coldly mocked, “Wasn’t I the one who cheated? I admit my mistake, but she’s always been a good girl, and I was the one who let her down. She is a perfect omega, I don’t deserve her.”
One only remembers a person’s goodness after losing them. She gave up her dream major for him, endured the criticism from his family, and steadfastly bonded him… She was intelligent, gentle, and strong, never losing her temper. Jason’s wolf roared painfully, “SHE WAS SO GOOD, YET I FOUND HER BORING… I WAS TIRED OF THE GOOD LIFE AND WANTED TO SUFFER…”
Tanner’s face twisted. “She’s a good girl, and I’m the bad guy? Then what was our relationship?”
Jason’s eyes were empty, as if looking at a dead thing:“What do you think…?”
Tanner screamed, grabbing a knife from the table and slashing at her neck. The Coopers scrambled to stop her.
Jason didn’t even look, turning to leave. He’d witnessed this countless times; let her die if she wanted…
Henry and Vera also stood up and left with heavy faces. Tanner, seeing his departure, cried out, “Come back! You’ll regret this! You’ll regret it…”
Jason didn’t look back. The Coopers restrained Tanner, and after calming his sister down, Zane chased after Jason.
Zane was now in a bind. He regretted allowing his sister’s reckless behavior. Now, personal and professional matters were intertwined in a mess. To make matters worse, Xander had appeared…
Xander wasn’t as perceptive as Zane thought. He’d simply interacted with Jason several times recently and understood his temperament. His actions today were highly personal, but also based on his knowledge and prediction of the situations trajectory. Jason’s actions last night and Vera’s statement today were entirely separate; with Jason’s ruthless nature, it would have been strange if he’d followed orders obediently.
Outside Mr. Shaw’s office. VP David and several executives were waiting.
Zane tried to send them away, claiming Jason was resting, but they insisted on waiting. It looked like a prime minister leading ministers to reprimand a tyrannical prince. It actually was. It was the regular pack member to reprimand the alpha of the Pack
They’d heard about the Moon Wind Pack branch incident, particularly the new CEO’s secretary, Sophia, who had distinguished herself and won the chairman’s approval.
