Dusk Snow Hides All Return (Rowan and Adrienne) novel Chapter 39

I said nothing. Jason’s seemingly calm face held a hint of unnaturalness.

The phone continued to ring, with calls and video call requests, eventually escalating into a relentless barrage of text messages, one after another, brazen and arrogant.

The situation became tense.

Not answering it?I reminded him coolly.

Jason finally picked up the phone, didn’t look at it, and turned it off, then put it back on the nightstand. He touched my forehead. You’re still a little hot. It’s okay, go to sleep. I’ll watch over you.

I lay back down and closed my eyes.

An hour later, my breathing was even, as if I were asleep.

Jason picked up the phone from the nightstand, turned it on, and went to the balcony. After reading the messages, he made a call. Is she alright? Don’t worry, don’t worry, I’ll be right there

He spoke in a low voice, returned to the room, grabbed his coat, and left.

Behind him, I quietly opened my eyes.

I hadn’t slept at all. My wolf laughed at him, WHAT A COWARD! HE’S SUPPOSED TO BE THE HEAD WARRIOR AND HE DOESN’T EVEN DARE TO ANSWER A PHONE CALL!

Actually, I didn’t know what I was still expecting. A fickle werewolf is like rotten fruit; it only decays further

4:30 AM.

Jason returned.

Seeing that I was still asleep, he breathed a sigh of relief, went over and touched my forehead; the fever had broken.

He got up and went to the bathroom to shower.

A while later, he came out in his pajamas, lay down beside me, and wrapped his arms

around my waist.

After he fell asleep, I gently moved his hand from my waist, sat up, and coldly observed the sleeping man. His face was as handsome as ever, with thin lips, a sexy Adam’s apple, and

My gaze fell on the row of delicate bite marks on his collarbone.

My chest felt as if it had been pierced.

And

That body, already polluted and taintedAt that moment, I even had the urge to smother him with a pillow. My wolf was angry, A USED, DIRTY MANMIGHT AS WELL KILL HIM!

When Jason woke up, I was already up.

When he came downstairs, I was wearing an apron, having prepared breakfast for both of us, and called him over to eat.

Your fever just broke, why didn’t you sleep a little longer?Jason walked over to touch my forehead, but I subtly avoided him. Just a slight cold, it’s nothing.

I took off my apron and sat down.

Jason looked at his outstretched hand, a little embarrassed, but seeing that I was calm and no longer angry, he didn’t think much of it. He sat down.
