Eight Years of Maybe One Day of I Do—Bride Swapped Deal With It novel Chapter 108

Chapter 6

Regret came too late.

Eden clutched the suicide note, eyes bloodshot.

When he arrived at the scene in a frenzy, Verna and her friends trailed behind him.

None of them cared whether Nimue lived or died.

They only rushed to demand: “Are the six babies really gone?”

Upon learning of Nimue’s death in the car accident, Verna frowned in annoyance: “Ugh, what a waste. All those prenatal injections for nothing. She suffered for no reason.”

A friend stared at the specimen jars on the ground, still shaken: “Seven-month embryos, just gone like that. What a shame.”

Eden whipped around, eyes red as a beast’s.

“She’s DEAD, and all you care about are the babies?”

Verna sneered coldly. “She’s dead, so what? What’s that got to do with me? My ‘blood bank’ is gone-even if she were alive, she should be on her knees apologizing to ME!”

SLAP-

Eden’s hand flew across her face, his voice trembling.

“She was my WIFE. Show some fucking respect!”

Verna clutched her cheek, shrieking: “NOW you admit she’s your wife? She was nothing but a SURROGATE TOOL!”

Friends rushed forward to mediate: “Eden, we’re just heartbroken about the babies. How did Nimue suddenly get into an accident?”

Eden stared at the note in his hands, then suddenly grabbed someone by the collar.

“How did Nimue find out about the embryos? Did you idiots post videos in the group chat?”

He shoved everyone aside and lunged at his trembling Damon-the very person who’d uploaded the intimate camping video of Eden and Verna to social media last night.

“TALK!” Eden’s hands closed around his throat. “Who told you to post it?”

Damon’s face turned purple: “It was… it was Ms. Jones who asked me to…”

Before he could finish, Eden’s fist slammed into his face.

Blood gushed from his nose instantly.

Verna screamed and stumbled backward in terror.

“Eden, have you lost your mind?! He’s just an assistant!”

“YOU ALL DESERVE TO DIE!” Eden spun around and grabbed another friend. “You treated her like a tool, I treated her like a tool. Now she’s dead, and we ALL deserve to die!”

His fists rained down like a storm. The assistant curled up on the ground, arms protecting his head. The others scattered in panic.

Verna cowered in the corner, watching Eden spiral out of control. Finally, she couldn’t hold back her scream.

“ENOUGH! She was just a surrogate! Is she worth losing your mind over?!”

Eden whipped around, his gaze hollow as stagnant water: “What did you say?”

“I said she deserved it!” Verna stamped her foot. “If she hadn’t destroyed the cord blood, my illness-”

“SHUT UP!” Eden charged forward and grabbed her throat.

“This is ALL YOUR FAULT! You’re the one who said ‘surrogacy’ was foolproof! You said she’d never figure out the embryos weren’t hers.”

Verna’s face went deathly pale. Struggling, she pointed at the specimen jars.
