It is time, I am currently standing at the edge of the council’s headquarters. Reed drove me here and stopped just short of them knowing we were there. It looked like a basic government building. A grey-sided building with white windows and a dark grey roof. It looked like it was one story but we both know the levels of basement that it came with. There were two-armed security guards standing at the door and you could see multiple cameras scanning the area. The whole vibe of the building was deceiving as we knew what true horrors lies within. If a human found this building, they would think it was a normal government building that they were not allowed to access. Only wolves could sense the darkness, blood and terror within these four walls.
“Last chance to head back” Reed said quietly as we both stared.
“You should know me better than that by now” I said, without even looking at him.
“Yeah, I do, but I wouldn’t be doing my promise to Wyatt by protecting you if I didn’t try a little. Just make sure you are at the pick-up spot. There will be warriors camping out around here if something goes wrong or you get out early. I have to head back in case they attack there.”
“Thank you, Reed. For everything. I mean it.” I said, looking at him in the eyes.
“Don’t do that, don’t act like this is the last time we will see each other. Kelly will kill me if you don’t make it back alive.” Reed said as he shook his head. Refusing to believe there might be a different outcome than me making it back alive and unharmed.
Smiling, I pulled him in for a hug. Not a romantic hug by any means, but as a comfortable thing. He has grown to be like a brother to me. In a way, he is with Kelly, but I have learned I can rely on him and he will pull through. “Wyatt and I have a plan in place, and we have men we trust. Just make sure you get the evidence you need and get to the pick-up location. We will handle the rest. I am not sure we will be able to penetrate those walls once they know you are out.”
“Got it!” I said, nodding as I replayed those words in my head.
We watched as Grant made his way out the building and toward us. And so I began, I thought to myself as he got into his car and started driving this way. After about five minutes, he had found us and parked his car. The road was pretty winding through the mountains.
Grant got out of his car and walked up to us. “Everything ready to go?”
“Yeah, we are set, there are people around and ready for pick-up from now till three days.” Reed answered.
“Good, I have a few keys I will give you later on to help you get out. I cannot give them to you now, but I will later when we get you out.” Grant said, looking nervous.
“I will be alive. Not sure what shape, but alive.” I said firmly. Both guys looked at me with expressions that resembled a mixture of sadness and pride.
“Just be alive” Reed said before he gave me one last hug and walked back to his truck and left. He didn’t want to stay and watch.
“I guess it is time” I said, looking at Grant.
“You sure about this?” He asked one last time. “I can’t stop what is going to happen once they realize you are there.”
“I understand. Just don’t let me get rapped…” I said, trailing off. I knew what they basically were going to do but there was a small part of me that feared that.
“That isn’t even on the table, and I will jump in and prevent that!” Grant said as a dark look overcame him. He walked back to his car and popped the trunk. Pulling out some rope, a gag and a black hooded bag for my head.
“That is a warning, you had better cooperate and don’t make this harder than it needs to be!” Mason yelled. He grabbed the ropes and cut them off, but I didn’t have a chance to fix my shoulders as he instantly picked me up and placed me on a chair, trying my arms behind me again and my legs to the legs of the chair. I kept taking deep breaths, trying to steady my breathing from the hit I just took.
Mason ripped the bag off my head and slapped me across the face before my eyes could even adjust. “That was for being a bitch at the meeting!” He said as he walked away. I felt the cut he gave me just below my eye as it was already wanting to swell.
Both men left the room and shut the door. I heard it lock and knew I was going to be here awhile. I looked around and I was in a full concrete room. There were dark stains on the walls and floors so as I knew they were blood. I looked at the chair and it was made of silver and there was a drain directly under me.
That drain, for some reason, caused me a lot of anxiety. I knew it was for washing the blood out of the room. Each wall had something new on it. Straight ahead of me was a table with what looked like a mirror, but I am pretty sure that will end up being a two-way mirror. The wall to my left had hand cuffs from the ceiling hanging down and cuffs on the floor. Next to that was a silver table that could fold up against the wall or lie down with chains.
Finally, in another way was a wooden board with what looked like nails coming through and chains hanging down on their side from the ceiling and on the floor. By the looks of the floor, the wall will come out and the nails will penetrate my flesh. I couldn’t see behind me much but what I could see was tables of different tools. On the right, I saw different whips and liquid in bottles. The walls had what looked like a scoreboard. There was a pitching machine with a bucket of softballs and lastly, from what I could see, was more sport-related items like a baseball bat, golf clubs and other random items that were hard to make out.
“We can do this. Focus and stay awake!” Raven said to me.
“Stay awake? Will I have a choice?”
“Maybe not sure if you need to act unconscious, then do but try not to actually go under.” Raven said.
“I’ll do my best” I said wearily, as I looked at the things around me. This is really going to hurt.
