Emerald Eyed Luna novel Nina (by Mrs.Smith) novel Chapter 78

Blackness was all I saw. No lights, no sounds or feelings. Just blackness. The scent of steak attacked my nose, causing all my other senses to awaken. Next came my hearing, as it was soft and gradually got louder and louder. Ugh, I did not want to be awake right now! The food smelled amazing though.

“Nina, time to wake up and eat”, Wyatt said as he shook me gently.

“Ugh, do I have to?” I asked in a whinny voice.

“Yes, princess, now open those eyes!”

“No!” I said stubbornly. Suddenly, the smell of steak, lettuce, cheese and many other things penetrated my nose, causing me to open my eyes and lean back. Kelly had stuck a bowl of salad with steak cut up in under my nose.

“How about now? Are you awake now?” Kelly smirked.

I just rolled my eyes at her and glared, but hungrily took the bowl and looked for a fork. Wyatt handed me one, and I got comfortable on the bed and began to eat my salad. Looking around at their plates, they had steaks, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. I got a salad. It was loaded with croutons, cheese, steak, nuts, dried fruit and dressing.

“Why did I get a salad?” I asked, looking at the mashed potatoes.

“Your stomach won’t be able to handle this yet. I got steak in there, but it was lighter,” Reed said.

Sighing, I just ate my salad in peace. He wasn’t wrong, but I was jealous. The salad was pretty tasty though. I will never admit that, but it was. I was able to eat about 3/4s of it before I was full. I felt pretty proud of myself over that, and Wyatt nodded when I handed him my bowl. I did eat all the steak, so I was getting the protein to help build that muscle back.

“Okay, so we talked, and we are thinking about sending a message to everyone with pictures of her injuries for more proof of their wrongful acts and as a motivational speech.” Wyatt said, starting off the conversation.

“I like the idea of those pictures. That will help convince more people, I think” Kelly said.

“Do you have a camera we could use?” I asked Reed. He nodded and got up to go get it.

“How are you feeling?” Kelly asked when Reed shut the bedroom door behind him.

“Good, sore, but the shower really helped me feel human.”

“Everyone will be here tomorrow. I think I got everyone organized and places for everyone to sleep.”

“That’s right! Miss Luna!” I teased.

“Oh, shut up!” Kelly said but she was blushing.

“You are a good Luna, don’t forget that!” I said and I meant it too.

“And a damn good one!” Reed bellowed as he came back into the room. He was carrying quite a fancy camera. Kelly blushed but beamed at him.

“Fancy…” I said. Suddenly I felt self-conscious.

“It is a few years old. You ready?” Reed said and three sets of eyes looked at me.

I am not sure why I suddenly felt so overwhelmed. My heart started beating a tad faster and my hands of clammy.

“A little makeup won’t hurt you!” and she stormed off to the bathroom. I heard the vanity doors bang and she emerged with a smile on her face, holding up a makeup bag. I got up and slowly made my way to the chair against the wall. There is only so much you can do against her!

“But lightly!” I said as I stopped her hand from touching my face.

“Yes, I know. I can’t make you look too good. No one will believe a sexy princess just got out of hell with a winged eye!” Kelly said like I was the dumb one here.

I let her do her thing without much argument. She did keep it light though. Basically, a little foundation and mascara. When she finished, the boys finally made their way back into the room.

Reed motioned for Kelly to help him set up the camera. Which was just to get her away from me because Wyatt had a very disappointed look to him and he didn’t want an audience.

“I am sorry Nina”, Wyatt started as he kneeled in front of me. I sat up and pulled him into a hug. “I just don’t like what happened to you. I didn’t even connect the dots with what that looked like.”

“It’s okay love. I understand. I hope one day you can look at me again and think I am pretty again.”

Wyatt pulled away from me. He was shocked and appalled. “Don’t ever say that! You are the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen! I will love you no matter what scars are on you.” Wyatt grabbed my face and kissed me passionately. We stopped kissing when we heard a cough from behind us.

“Don’t mess up her makeup!” Kelly said loudly. Wyatt rolled his eyes but stood up. Reed had everything hooked up and ready to go.

“Are you ready?” Reed asked.

“Yeah, I guess. Let’s get this over with,” I said. I got myself comfortable on the chair and sat up straight. Taking a deep breath, I started talking.
