Chapter 100 The Truth About Martin
He didn’t care whether his people lived or died. All he genuinely cared about was his own comfort. Life in the group kept getting harder, but Xane’s father started collecting supplies on a large scale.
His excuse was simple. He said he provided free shelter, so everyone had to hand over supplies. If they refused, they would be kicked out of the base.
To survive, people had no choice but to risk their lives and go out to gather supplies. But every time they came back, seventy percent of what they found had to be turned in.
Martin couldn’t stand it. He argued with Xane’s father. Because of that, he was marked as a problem.
Robin was part of Martin’s team. He was a good leader and took care of everyone.
When Robin first joined, many people looked down on her because she was a woman. They didn’t take her seriously.
Only Martin stood up for her. When she was pushed aside and treated like she didn’t belong, Martin told her something she would never forget. “In times like this, only the strong earn respect, And only the ruthless
survive.”
Everything she knew about fighting, she learned from him. He didn’t talk much, but he was steady and calm, almost like a quiet father figure.
Robin always remembered his words. But one day, Martin led the team out on a mission and never came back.
The others said he died protecting them. At first, Robin believed it. That was the kind of man he was.
After his death, she became quiet. She trained like crazy. She poured all her anger into killing zombies. Step by step, she climbed up and took the position Martin once held.
But later, by accident, she overheard a conversation between Xane and his father.
That was when she learned the truth. Martin didn’t die saving anyone. He was killed.
Because he had offended Xane’s father, he became a target. To get rid of him, Xane’s father set a trap and made sure he died.
Robin had never imagined the truth would be this cruel.
So in this new life, she would never place her hopes in any base again.
In this world, the only thing you could rely on was yourself.
Now she had met Martin again. He was still with Xane. This time, she wouldn’t let the same tragedy happen.
Neel,” Martin said politely, “thank you for your concern. But I have my duty. Orders come first. And there are many ordinary people in our team. Because the base exists, they still have hope. I can’t abandon
them.
His stance was firm. Robin understood. There was
no point saying
more.

Chapter 100 The Truth About Martin
If he could be persuaded so easily, he wouldn’t be Martin.
“I understand,” she said. “Then you came here to look for supplies?”
unders
“Yes.”
Robin nodded. “Follow me.”
She walked ahead. When they turned a corner, she suddenly pulled out two full shelves from her storage
space.
They were packed with food and water.
Martin’s eyes lit up for a moment. Then he shook his head. “The supermarket is on the basement level. You must’ve brought these up yourselves.” He paused, then added seriously, “Thank you, but I can’t take them Times are hard for everyone. We do need supplies, but we can’t just take from others.”
As expected, this was the same Martin she knew.
Robin smiled. “Martin, don’t feel bad about it. Yes, we brought these up. But you can see it yourself–we’re just a small group. We can’t use this much.” She gestured at the shelves. “If we leave them here, they’ll just sit unused. You might as well take them.”
