Klay was covered in roaring flames, but he didn’t even seem to feel it. Or rather, he wasn’t being burned, the fire was literally coming from him!
Xane stared in horror. For a moment, he didn’t even dare move. He watched the burning figure get closer, his vision turning orange from the flames.
“You… You…”
He stumbled back a couple of steps, then his legs gave out, and he fell to the ground.
“Monster… You’re a monster…”
He wanted to believe it was all a hallucination. But the flames licking his skin instantly raised a trail of blisters.
This was real.
Not an illusion!
Xane’s mental defenses completely broke. “Martin! Drake! Are you all dead?! Save me! I’m ordering you to save me right now!!”
But everyone was holding the stairway, fighting off zombies. No one could spare a hand to help
him!
“You bastard… You’re a fucking beast…”
Klay glared at him, blinded by rage. All he could see was the image of his sister falling over the railing.
His sister. Fallen.
And this scumbag had pushed her with his own two hands!
Klay reached out and grabbed Xane by the throat.
“Ugh…”
At extreme heat, everything feels ice–cold.
That was exactly what Xane felt.
He could clearly feel the flames burning through the skin on his neck. Xane’s eyes went wide in terror. Martin’s heart tightened as he watched. “Klay!”

That shout seemed to bring back a bit of Klay’s sanity. He paused for a split second. Then, without hesitation, he grabbed Xane by the waist and threw him over the glass railing.
Xane reached out into thin air, the wind whistling in his ears. The last things he saw were the mall floor rushing up at him and the ugly, rotting faces of a hundred zombies closing in!
“Argh!”
His chest was torn open violently. The zombies were so rough that his organs were ripped out and scattered!
A sickening chewing sound filled the air.
Crunch. Crunch.
In seconds, all that was left was a pool of blood and a pile of white bones.
Everything happened too fast.
So fast that no one had time to react.
Especially Martin and Drake–Xane was the one they were supposed to protect!
And now, they’d just watched him get thrown off the second floor and become zombie food.
“Izzy…”
Klay stared blankly downstairs as the flames around him slowly died down.
“I got revenge for you…”
The next second, there was a loud bang. Ella came out of nowhere, dragging two massive fabric sofas. Her thin arms somehow had the strength to swing them around, like they were light as pillows.
She swung one in each hand and threw the sofas down! The zombies below instantly opened up in two gaps. Who knew how many got crushed.
Robin said coldly, “Bring more. Get all the wooden and fabric furniture from that furniture store!”
Martin’s team stayed at the stairway, holding the line. Meanwhile, Robin directed her group to keep dragging furniture from the nearby store and tossing it down.
“What the hell are they doing?
“We’re here guarding the stairs, about to collapse from exhaustion, and instead of helping,
