After a night of rest, everyone felt much better. They took a short break, then headed out together.
Robin walked to a quiet corner and took a car out from her storage space. But now they had six more people, including Travis, so one car clearly wasn’t enough.
“You don’t have enough seats?” Martin walked over and asked. “We still have a few seats. If we squeeze in, it should work.”
“No, thanks.”
Robin turned him down politely.
She looked around. The street was full of abandoned cars anyway, finding one wasn’t hard.
Soon, she found a target.
When she went over to check, she was pleasantly surprised. The car key was still there. Maybe the owner ran away in a panic when the apocalypse broke out and didn’t have time to take it.
Or maybe they had turned into a zombie.
“Any of you guys know how to drive?”
Jerome raised his hand. “Me! I was a driver before the apocalypse.”
“Perfect.”
Robin tossed him the keys. “You guys take this car-”
Before she could finish, Dylan spoke lazily from the side, “Wait.”
Robin frowned slightly. “What’s up?”
Leaning on the car door, Dylan said, “This car only fits five people, but we’ve got six. It’s gonna be a bit cramped.”
“And?”
“Can I ride with you instead?”
Robin’s car could fit five too, but they only had four people, so his request wasn’t a big deal.
“Sure, hop in,” Robin said casually.
Dylan smirked and climbed into their car, like he belonged there.

The ride was smooth. It had taken them quite a bit of effort to get here before, but going back didn’t take long.
Maybe because of the small zombie horde yesterday, most of the zombies nearby had been cleared out, so the road was pretty quiet.
Soon, they arrived at the factory they had been to before.
The factory was dead silent. Not a single sound.
It almost felt like everyone inside had already left.
But Jerome leaned close to Robin and whispered, “Robin, I can hear people inside.”
Robin’s eyes lit up. “Can you tell how many?”
Jerome looked troubled. “Uh, I’m not that strong yet. But there are quite a few. Maybe seven or eight.”
“That’s enough. Good job.”
Robin nodded and turned to the others. “You guys wait here. Ella and I will go up.”
It looked like there were no zombies, but who knew if they’d suddenly pop out from some
corner.
“Okay.”
Robin and Ella scouted around the building and found that all the stairways going upstairs were
blocked.
“We’ll climb.”
For them, it was a piece of cake. They quickly got inside. Suddenly, a cautious voice rang out, “Who’s there?!”
It was like a stone dropped into a still lake. The quiet place instantly filled with noise.
“It’s me.”
Robin’s calm voice echoed.
The noise stopped instantly.
After a moment, someone stepped out of the darkness. When he saw Robin, his face lit up excitement. “It’s you! You’re back!”
