Chapter 156 The Silent Girl
Henry knew something felt off, but he couldn’t put his finger on what
it was.
While he was lost in thought, the person had already walked up to them.
“Are you a survivor from around here?” Adrian asked.
Everyone’s eyes fell on the figure in silence, sizing them up.
Then, the figure slowly pulled down their hood.
Long, healthy hair spilled out, and only then did they realize it was actually a girl!

She looked about 17 or 18. Tall and pretty. Her skin was very pale, almost ghostly pale. It was obvious she hadn’t eaten well or seen much sunlight in a long time.
Adrian gasped, his voice suddenly turning soft. “Hey there, are you alone? Have you not eaten in a while? Where’s your family?”
The girl pointed to her mouth and made a few “ah–ah” sounds.
Adrian understood right away. “Oh, you can’t talk?”
The girl didn’t nod or shake her head; she just stared at him quietly.
Adrian took that as a yes. “Why are you out here by yourself? It’s dangerous. Why don’t you come with us for now? I heard there’s a Level 2 zombie around here. Seriously, what were you thinking, coming out alone like this?”
The girl gave him a small smile.
Blake tried to stop him. “Adrian, I don’t think this is a good idea. I know you’re trying to help, but we really need Robin’s okay for this. You can’t just make a call like that on your own.”
Adrian shook off his arm, clearly annoyed. “Blake, I swear, something’s wrong with you. You’re always worrying about this and that. How spineless are you?

“Besides, even if Robin were here, she’d definitely agree to take her in. The zoo is huge. There are plenty of empty places. And Robin’s always been so kind-”
“Pfft!”
Henry couldn’t help himself; he burst out laughing.
What did I just hear?
Kind?
Robin??
How on earth did this guy manage to use this word to describe her?

Chapter 156 The Silent Girl
Adrian saw his reaction and felt a little awkward.
To be honest, he had his own reasons for saying that. He wasn’t sure iRobin would take the girl in, but everyone knew Tim and Henry were close to her. If he put in a few good words for her in front of them, she’d probably be in a good enough mood to say yes…
Henry was way too sharp not to see right through that. “Don’t put ‘Robin‘ and ‘kind‘ in the same sentence. And don’t expect us to be your messengers.
“We’re okay with this girl tagging along for now, but don’t get ahead of yourself. If Robin says no later, you’re the one who’s going to look stupid.”
“I–I didn’t mean it like that.”
Adrian’s face turned red. “You got me wrong. I really do think Robin is kind…”
Henry waved him off, not interested in hearing the rest of the excuse.
“Well, let’s just take her somewhere else for now,” Blake said helplessly.
Adrian was completely focused on the girl now. Hearing that, he quickly said, “Let’s go, let’s go! We need to move. It’s too dangerous here—”
Before he could finish, Blake’s expression suddenly changed. “Watch out!”
He kicked Adrian square in the chest, sending him flying six feet back.
“Argh!” Adrian cried out and hit the ground, struggling to breathe for a while.
