End Times, Surviving with My Beastly Army novel Chapter 157

Chapter 157 Struck From the Shadows

Blake could only shrug helplessly. The five of them stood backtoback in a tight circle, staying alert to every little sound around them.

Hey, girl, come stand by me. Don’t let that zombie hurt you,Adrian said, pulling the girl closer to his side.

Hearing that, Travis rolled his eyes.

One minute passed.

Two minutes.

Three minutes.

There was still no movement at all.

That shadow that had flashed past just now felt like an illusion.

Adrian couldn’t help but doubt it. Did something really pass by just now?

Blake nodded firmly. Yes! Adrian, look, we’ve had our issues, but I wouldn’t joke about something this serious. It really could’ve been that Level 2 zombie!

Adrian huffed but didn’t say anything.

Tim gripped his weapon tightly. Even after three minutes, he hadn’t relaxed for a second.

A shadow suddenly shot over at terrifying speed!

Watch out!Tim shouted.

At the same time, he ducked low and swung his weapon to meet the threat!

Slash!

The blade seemed to cut into something. A thick, sticky substance splattered out. The Shadow was enraged

and let out a roar.

It was definitely a zombie!

Tim dodged to the side with lightningfast reflexes. Henry flicked a lighter and immediately activated his power!

Boom!

The lighter exploded instantly, but it was still a bit too late.

Some of the flames hit the Level 2 zombie, but it was insanely fast. The fire didn’t affect it at all

It had only appeared for a split second before disappearing agam

It came and went like a ghost.

That was how everyone described this Level 2 zombie.

It was just too fast!

So fast that it was hard to even track with the naked eye, let alone fight.

That’s disgusting.

Henry was totally grossed out. He hadn’t expected the first Level 2 zombie they ran into to be this nasty.

Facing it headon would be one thing, but they couldn’t even catch a glimpse of it.

They were sitting ducks out in the open, while it stayed hidden in the shadows. Even with their numbers, they were still at a disadvantage.

Don’t panic,Tim said, his eyes scanning the area like a hawk.

This zombie could show up at any moment. We can’t let our guard down, not even for a second. If we do, we’re done for.

Girl, it’s too dangerous out here. You shouldn’t stay with us. If that zombie hits you by accident, it’ll be pad,” Adrian said.

He spotted a nearby door. Through the window, he could see that the room was empty and probably safe.

He thought for a second, then pulled the door open, shoved the girl inside, and gave her a bunch of urgent warnings and instructions.

The girl still didn’t say a word or put up a fight. She just gave him a quiet, empty look before turning away. walking straight in, and closing the door.

To Adrian, everything seemed perfectly fine.

He instinctively thought the girl was just the cold type. Since she couldn’t speak, he assumed people with disabilities were just wired to be more guarded than everyone else.

Blake twitched his mouth and muttered under his breath, You can barely protect yourself right now, and you’re still worried about someone else?

None of your business.

Adrian shot back with a snort. I’m not a coldhearted coward like you.

How the hell am I a coward again–
