Serena could only say that much.

By the time the canteen was returned to her hands, what had been a full canteen was now less than one- third full.

Holding the light and nearly empty canteen, tears of grievance almost slipped from Serena’s eyes.

But Hector showed not the slightest hint of apology. In his eyes, using Serena’s water was doing her a favor.

A whole group of people scrambled in chaos, chasing after that magpie. Yet the bird seemed to be toying with them on purpose–again and again it swooped low, and just when they thought they could catch it, it would suddenly shoot back up into the air.

After several rounds, the group was completely worn out. The magpie, however, lightly landed on the windowsill and let out a mocking cry.

“Useless. You’re all completely useless!”

Hector cursed loudly. “What am I feeding all of you for? You can’t even catch a single bird!”

No one dared to respond.

It was ridiculous. There were quite a few ability users among them, including speed ability users, yet none of them had even managed to touch a single feather of that magpie.

It was an utter humiliation.

Then, Serena suddenly had a flash of insight. “Commander Clark, I think that magpie isn’t a normal bird! It might be controlled by that insane little girl!

“So that means they might still be inside this hospital, and are just hiding somewhere!”

“Oh no, she figured it out!”

Inside the ventilation duct, Vivian lay on her stomach and sighed with a hint of regret.

They had just started having fun.

Hector snapped, “If they’re still in the hospital, then go find them!”

Serena quickly added, “The last time we found that girl, she was hiding in the ventilation system. Maybe she’s there again.”

“The vents…”

Hector looked up at the ceiling, his expression darkening. “Even if we have to tear this place apart, we’re finding her!”

After being toyed with by a bird like that, there was no way he could swallow his anger.

“She’s still here!”

Pointing at Vivian, she said, “Commander Clark, it’s her! She’s the insane girl who can control animals!”

Falling down along with her was a large white goose.

Serena became even more excited. “That’s the goose! It has wind abilities!”

Hector let out a cold laugh, his dark gaze sweeping over the girl and the goose.

“You picked a good place to hide.

“Why is it just you here? Where are the others? Where did they go?”

Vivian rubbed the sore spot where she’d landed, her delicate face full of displeasure.

“Where did this bunch of annoying people come from?”

She frowned, completely ignoring his question.

Being blatantly ignored only made Hector angrier. “I’m talking to you. Where are the others? If you don’t answer, don’t blame me for being rough on you!”

Behind him, the group stepped forward in unison, the threat obvious.

“Honk!”

Cotton immediately sensed the danger. He shook his wings fiercely, eyes flashing with hostility.

“Interesting. Very interesting.”
