Even though Shangri–La had once belonged to Henry Wood, that was before the apocalypse. Now things were different.
“Alright,” Robin said.
A hint of approval flashed in her eyes. Tim clearly understood the situation. He knew what should be said and what should not.
She agreed simply, “I can help you.”
All of them froze at the same time.
They looked at each other, wondering if they had heard her wrong.
Then Robin continued, “How do you plan to repay me?”
Tim snapped back to his senses. Joy filled his face. “If you’re willing to help us, then someday in the future-”
“The future?”
Robin let out a small laugh. “Forget about empty promises. In a world like this, none of us even knows if we’ll still be alive tomorrow. Talking about the future doesn’t mean much.”
“I—if you save him, my life is yours!” Tim said quickly.
“What would I even do with your life?” Robin replied lazily.
Tim was stunned. “Then…”
He had wanted to offer money. But when he thought about it again, money was probably the most useless thing in the world right now. So, he swallowed those words. “What do you want? As long as you help us, I’ll do anything. No matter how hard it is, I won’t refuse.”
“It’s simple,” Robin said. “I want that girl.”
“What? The girl!?” Tim stared in shock.
Ella looked around in confusion. Then she widened her eyes and pointed at herself. “Wait… me?”
“Yes. You,” Robin said calmly.
“I think you look like someone I can trust. There are too many chores here, and I need an extra

pair of hands. Would you like to stay and help me? If you agree, I’ll send out medicine and bandages right away. I heard you haven’t eaten for several days, right?”
Her voice carried a playful tone. “If you stay with me, I can give your friends some food.”
The group was completely stunned.
None of them had expected this condition. That squatter didn’t want money, supplies, or anything else. She wanted Ella.
Tim immediately tried to refuse. “We can’t agree-”
But before he could finish, Ella suddenly cut him off. “Fine! I’ll do it.”
“Ella!” Dane shouted, alarmed.
There were so many of them, but that squatter asked for only one thing–a young girl.
The intention was obvious to anyone watching.
Ella, however, sounded confident. “It’s fine. She probably just needs help with simple chores like bringing tea or cleaning,” she said. “Dane, don’t forget, I’m not helpless. I can protect myself.”
Tim and Dane tried to stop her, but Ella suddenly raised her voice. “What other choice do we have?!”
Her eyes turned red with emotion. “Mr. Henry saved my life. If he hadn’t tried to save me, he wouldn’t be the one lying there hurt right now.” She clenched her fists. “And Dane was right about one thing. The world isn’t the same anymore!”
She pointed toward the woods outside. “Those disgusting monsters are everywhere. The fact that we even made it here is already a miracle. One small mistake and we could die any day!” Her voice trembled. “I owe Mr. Henry my life. I have to repay him while I’m still alive!”
She looked at the unconscious Henry on the ground. “Now there’s finally a chance to save him. If helping him means I have to pay some price, then fine. Even if she wants my life, I’ll give it!”
When she finished speaking, Tim and Dane both fell silent.
Ella took a deep breath and lowered her voice. “I have ability,” she said quietly. “I can protect myself. If she tries anything bad, I won’t go down without a fight.”
She thought she was speaking softly. But she didn’t know that Robin’s equipment had already been upgraded to top level. Every word she said reached Robin clearly.
Robin let out a small laugh. “So dramatic. Kind of entertaining.”
