Chapter 181 Conditions and Defiance

“Second, we’re taking this white goose with us. He has a wind ability, and this is something we’ve never seen before. He’ll be extremely valuable for research at our base.
“If we can figure out why he developed abilities, it would be a major breakthrough in human history. I’m sure you wouldn’t refuse a condition like that, right?
“Third, once you arrive at the base, all the supplies you and your group possess must be turned in.
“I don’t know where you got your resources, but once you’re part of our base, we’re one family. Our base is the fairest–everything is distributed collectively. Your contribution will earn the gratitude of every resident there.
“And finally…”
Hector paused. “I’ve heard you have a gun. In our country, firearms and ammunition are strictly prohibited. If you were just an ordinary girl, how could you possibly have something that dangerous?
“So I have every reason to suspect that you were a terrorist before the apocalypse–someone who threatened public order.
“Under normal circumstances, someone like you would be dealt with severely. But given the current situation, we’re willing to give you a chance to turn over a new leaf and make amends. It all depends on whether you’re willing to take it.”
Hector spoke at length, then confidently crossed his arms.
He was certain he had made himself clear enough. As long as Robin had even a shred of common sense, she wouldn’t refuse.
No, she couldn’t refuse. She should be grateful to him.
He was giving her a chance to start over.
Robin couldn’t help but laugh.
She shook her head, her eyes filled with mockery.
So, Hector had always been this stupid.
In her previous life, she thought he had only become like that later, corrupted by power and greed. But now she realized, some people were rotten from the very beginning.
“Commander Hector Clark,” Robin said lightly, “you really are quite the schemer… Oh, and impressively shameless too.
“I’m honestly curious, how do you even say things like that out loud? Do you have no sense of shame at all?”
From behind her, Vivian poked her head out. “Yeah, yeah! Robin, he’s exactly that shameless! I’ve never

Hector had never expected to be rejected. His face twisted with anger, and he yelled, “What do you mean by that? Let me make this clear. I can arrest you right now for disrupting public order! I’m giving you a chance to redeem yourself. You’d better not be ungrateful, or don’t blame me for getting rough with you!”
“Is that so?”
Robin raised an eyebrow slightly. “And how exactly do you plan to ‘getting rough‘ with me?
“If I remember correctly, the last person who said that to me was your captain, wasn’t he?”
Her gaze shifted to Serena. “Seems like Commander Clark doesn’t know what happened. Why don’t you tell him–in detail–how your captain ended up crippled?”
Meeting her eyes, Serena instantly recalled that day. She shuddered uncontrollably, quickly looking away, not daring to say a single word.
“Useless.”
Hector snapped in frustration.
Frightened into silence by a single look–Serena was truly hopeless.
Serena felt wronged.
Hector didn’t know what had happened, but she had seen everything that day.
Robin’s strength was unfathomable, and the memory had left a deep shadow in her mind.
“Cotton.”
Robin flicked Cotton lightly on the head and said casually, “Go call for backup.
“He brought all these people just to throw his weight around. But they’re just people, since when have we ever been afraid of them?”
“Honk! Honk!”
Cotton immediately perked up, let out an excited cry, and flew straight out the window.
He could even fly…
酯
Seeing this, Hector became even more determined to take him.
His voice turned cold. “I’ll give you one last chance. If you’re still this uncooperative, then don’t blame us for not holding back.”
