Chapter 188 What a Fool
Serena opened her mouth, her face full of contempt.
“If you all weren’t so incompetent, we wouldn’t have ended up in this mess today!”
Hector spoke through clenched teeth.
They’d lost a lot this time around.
“What are you all standing around for?”
Hector barked, “Get in the damn car!”

From a second–floor window, Martin watched as the group finally left. He walked over to Robin and sighed quietly. “Robin, this was never your problem. You didn’t have to get yourself into so much trouble for us.
“Redwood Military Base has powerful backers. Offending them means offending several other bases at the same time. The fallout from this is more than you can imagine.”
“Fallout?”
Robin gave a small laugh. “I don’t see this as trouble at all. Even if we hadn’t clashed with Redwood this time, we all live in the same city, so a confrontation was only a matter of time. Besides…”
Besides, would it really be that serious?
The deeper the apocalypse went, the more human order collapsed.
At the start, Central Command could still intervene in the affairs of other bases. But later on, they could barely manage themselves, let alone step in for someone else.
On top of that, the world was not what it used to be.
Now, everything was settled with strength.
As time went on and power shifted, other bases changed hands, all the forces broke apart and reformed, and everything spun out of control. Serena’s warnings didn’t concern Robin at all.
“Martin, this isn’t just your problem or Drake’s, so you don’t have to feel guilty. I know what I’m doing.”
Robin smiled.
Redwood Military Base, huh?
The zoo’s location was remote, so she didn’t mind having another branch base.
On top of that, the people and supplies already inside that base were more than enough.
Martin looked at her seriously. “Either way, I still need to thank you.”
“I’ve already said this before.”

Robin replied, “Once you chose to join me, we should always be on the same side. So there’s no need to say anything more.
“And besides, do you really think Redwood is in good hands with someone like Hector in charge?”
Now she had an even bolder idea.
But-
She still needed to wait for the right opportunity to make her move.
“Everything’s fine here. Everyone, hurry up and kill more zombies. We’ll return to base in two days.”
Robin dismissed the group. She patted Vivian’s head. “You did great this time, but if you ever run into this kind of situation again, remember to protect yourself first. If you can’t win, run.”
“I know.”
Vivian pouted.
Two days later, the team returned to base with their vehicles packed with supplies and a huge haul of points–some in the hundreds, some in the thousands. Everyone was in high spirits.
This time, they came back loaded with goods. Everyone felt even more convinced of one thing.
As long as they stuck with Robin, they would never go hungry.
And as the capitalist squeezing every drop from them, Robin raked in more than ever.
The base now had more than fifty residents. On this trip, almost everyone earned several hundred points. They nearly wiped out every zombie within miles of the hospital and even ran into several Level 2 zombies, which they defeated together.
Some did especially well, like Monica, who walked away with more than a thousand points. Since they were officially recognized as base residents by the system, Robin received more than half of their points as
her share.
The total came to over 14,000 points.
Adding her existing points, her total broke 20,000.
In these five days, more than a handful more people awakened their abilities. Once everyone got back to base, the points they used to redeem supplies would flow right back into Robin’s account.
It was a massive windfall. Being a capitalist in this world was just too easy–she was practically making money out of thin air.
Back at the base, Robin called the newly awakened to Shangri–La.
“Robin, you wanted to see us?”
“Yes.”
