Chapter 220 Mind Game
“I don’t know what’s going on inside your base, and I don’t care,” Chad said coldly. “But let me make this clear. If you don’t agree to my condition, then there’s no need for this meal. And don’t even think about leaving today.
“This isn’t a place where you come and go as you please.”
By the time he finished, the smile on his face was completely gone.
The room turned tense. Martin and Drake looked serious. Ella looked furious.
This guy has no shame at all.
When they first met him, he was all smiles and acted friendly. But underneath, he was nothing but sly and cruel.
At some point, a row of guards had quietly appeared at the door.
They were different from the patrols and enforcers outside. Even though their uniforms were worn, they were neat and strict. Like Martin, they carried the presence of real soldiers–men who had fought on the battlefield. Their eyes were sharp. Their killing intent was faint, but clear.
Just standing there made people feel uneasy.
Even worse, every one of them was armed.
The threat was obvious.
“Commander Moody, what do you mean by this?” Martin’s face darkened.
Chad gave a fake smile. “I think I’ve made myself very clear. Martin, Drake, I’ve always thought highly of you both. I hope you won’t disappoint me this time.
“I’m sure you know what choice to make. Merge with us, or come back and face punishment. I believe you’re smart enough to decide.
“Hector told me you’re strong. I can see that you’re confident too–bringing only five people into our base. Do you look down on us?”
He leaned forward slightly, his voice turning cold. “Let’s see if your so–called strength can stop bullets.”
Chad had completely dropped the act.
Martin and Drake could tell right away–the guards at the door were all elite soldiers.
The silence that followed was suffocating. Chad leaned back on the couch, slowly turning the cup in his
hand, a faint smile still on his face.
He wasn’t in a hurry.
He believed that as long as he stayed calm, the others would crack first.
But he was wrong.
One minute passed.
You want to play a mind game with me?
Fine.
Let’s see who lasts longer.
