Chapter 219 Coming Home
“Him?”
Serena reacted quickly. “So he was the one behind this! He ordered them to do it!”
Robin said calmly, “That doesn’t really matter to us. That’s your internal conflict, so you can deal with it yourselves.
“What matters is how Redwood Military Base plans to explain this to us.”
Her tone was light, but it carried pressure. “A base this big shouldn’t disappoint its guests, right?”
Serena nodded awkwardly. “Of course! Once we finish the investigation, we’ll definitely give you a proper answer!”
She quickly changed the topic. “Our base commander has returned. Please come with me to Innerville for a meal!”
“Innerville?” Drake said with a hint of sarcasm. “Getting to eat there today sure isn’t easy.”
Serena pretended not to hear him and kept smiling. “Please, let’s discuss the details of our cooperation with the base leadership.”
Robin waved her hand casually.
In her past life, she had never eaten food from Innerville. She had only heard how luxurious the higher- ups lived. Now, she could finally see it for herself.
After passing through layers of security checks, they stepped into Innerville once again.
Ivan was left behind in the room. But he was smart–if he reacted fast enough, he could handle any trouble on his own.
After clearing the final checkpoint, a grand villa appeared in front of them.
It stood at the very center of Innerville. The location was perfect, and the place was decorated with extreme luxury.
At the entrance, a musical fountain played soft melodies. But Ella quickly noticed something–the water had a faint green tint. It didn’t look like it had been changed in a long time.
An old man walked out of the villa, with Hector following closely behind him.
The old man paused for a second when he saw the group. Then he broke into a wide smile.
“I just got back and heard we had important guests visiting the base. I was wondering who it could be-
turns out it’s Martin!”
He completely ignored Robin and the others and walked straight toward Martin and Drake.
“You two coming here isn’t a visit. This is more like coming home!”
He laughed warmly.
“Commander Moody… Martín started to speak.
But Chad Moody cut him off. “Hey, I know what you’re going to say. Hector already told me everything.”
