“No. Mr. Henry is here. You have to stay and protect him,” Tim insisted.

The two of them were still arguing when Dane suddenly glanced to the side. He saw a figure running quickly toward them.
Behind the person was a large white shape, wobbling as it chased after her. It was the same big white goose they had seen before.
“Is that Ella?” Dane’s face lit up with relief.
“It’s Ella! She probably found a chance to escape! That goose is chasing her!” He turned to Tim. “Quick! We have to help her!”
Before Tim could stop him, a small ball of lightning appeared in Dane’s palm. He threw it at Cotton.
Crack! Snap!
The purple lightning ball shot forward with sparks flying. Cotton stopped suddenly and dodged to the side. The lightning struck the ground, leaving behind a patch of blackened dirt. Cotton lowered his head and stared at the spot. Then he became furious.
Every day, he already had to work for that woman like a farm animal. That was annoying enough.
And now these random little humans dared to attack him?
Cotton stretched out his long neck and let out an angry honk. His wings lifted, then slammed down. A violent gust of wind exploded outward.
Dane didn’t even have time to dodge. A strong man nearly six feet tall was blown away like a leaf in a storm.
“Whoosh!” He flew past Tim in a blur. Tim was shocked. “Dane!”
What kind of creature was this giant goose?
It only flapped its wings once, yet the power was terrifying. If even the goose was this strong, then what about the woman living inside that villa?
Everything happened too fast.
Ella had been focused on one thing: bringing the food to them as quickly as possible. She never expected the two sides to suddenly start fighting.

She froze for two seconds before finally reacting. “Hey! Stop fighting!” she shouted.
Luckily, Cotton was very proud. When he saw that the human couldn’t even handle one flap of his wings, he stretched his neck high with a look of pure disdain. His eyes clearly said one thing: Pat
hetic!
Ella ran over in panic. “Tim! Dane! What are you doing?”
Dane struggled to sit up. His head was still spinning. “Ella… are you okay?”
“I’m fine!” Ella said quickly. “But what about you? Why did you suddenly attack him?”
Dane blinked, confused. “You finally escaped. Of course I had to help you deal with the enemy chasing you.”
Ella had no words.
She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “I didn’t escape,” she said. “And I already promised I would stay and work for her. I can’t just break my word.”
Dane frowned deeply. “Did that woman threaten you or something?”
Ella looked even more helpless. “No. And stop calling her that woman. The lady inside is a good person. She didn’t hurt me. She even agreed to let me come out and see you.”
“Really?” Dane still looked doubtful.
Just then, Cotton slowly walked over. The big white goose looked at Dane through the razor wire with clear disdain. Cotton pressed his little head against a sensor near the gate. Beep! The small gate clicked open.
Dane stared in shock. “This gate… it actually scanned a goose’s eye for iris recognition.”
Ella was surprised too. But earlier she had already seen Ruby unlock a door using her nose print. Compared to that, Cotton opening the gate with an eye scan suddenly felt strangely normal.
Once she stepped outside, Dane immediately grabbed her shoulders. He looked her over from head to toe. When he confirmed she wasn’t injured, he finally let out a breath.
Tim pulled a pack of crunchy ramen snacks from a plastic bag. “Here, eat this,” he said gently. “You must be starving. As long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters.”
Ella looked at the sad little pack of crunchy ramen snacks and quickly shook her head. “No, no, Tim. I’m not eating that.”

Tim cut her off in a firm voice. “Don’t worry about us. We already ate. But why are you hugging that bundle of clothes?”
Dane’s face suddenly changed. “That psycho hurt you?!” he blurted out.
