The woman’s eyes up like she had just seen hope. She grabbed his leg, tears and snot running down her face. “Okay, okay! As long as you let my child go, I’ll do anything! Anything you want!”

“Anything?” the man asked, pushing it further. His eyes drifted to the two–year–old child. “Then why don’t you let him join too? So young, looks like he’d-”

Before he could finish, a sharp pain shot through his leg.

“Arhhhh!!”

He screamed and kicked hard. “You crazy bitch! You dared to bite me!”

He didn’t hold back. His foot slammed straight into her face.

Blood poured from her nose. The woman fell to the ground, her eyes red with rage. “You monster! You’re not even human!”

She could never have imagined he would say something like that.

The man flew into a rage. “You said you’d do anything! Get out! You and that useless brat, both of you get lost! Trash like you should be thrown out to the zombies!”

As he spoke, he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her toward the exit.

Domingo was about to explode with anger.

Before the man could take more than a couple of steps, a thick green vine lashed out and struck him across the waist.

He didn’t even have time to react. The force slammed him straight into the ground.

Two other vines moved more gently. They wrapped around the woman and the child, lifting them up and placing them safely on an open patch nearby.

“My baby! Are you okay?”

The woman didn’t care about herself. The moment she touched the ground, she crawled toward her child.

She checked him in a panic. When she saw there were no injuries, just fear, she finally let out a breath. She pulled him into her arms and burst into tears.

“I can’t believe this! I was gone for just three days, and this is what you’ve all turned into!”

Domingo’s body shook with anger. Countless green vines burst from the ground, whipping through the air like living whips.

The man was also an ability user. After gaining powers, a person’s body became stronger in many ways. Even though Domingo’s attack had nearly knocked the wind out of him, he barely managed to hold on.
