Chapter 262 When Loyalty Is Tested
Behind David, a man swallowed hard and quietly took a step back.
An ice spike Robin had just fired was stuck in the ground right by his foot.
He could even see blood splattered on the cuff of his pants.
The bright red color burned his eyes like fire.
Hearing the commotion, David’s heart skipped a beat, but he forced himself to stay calm. “I respect everyone’s choice,” he said evenly.
“Of course, if you choose to support me, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

“I meant every promise I made before. I’ll keep them all, one by one. We’re ability users–we’re already ahead of ordinary people. So why shouldn’t we be way ahead?
“But let me be clear. If you choose to leave now, I won’t stop you. But if you try to come back later, there won’t be another chance.”
His words were both soft and threatening. They worked. The people who had been wavering started to hesitate again.
After Robin spoke earlier, she had no intention of talking anymore.
She didn’t repeat herself. And she didn’t want fools.
If they insisted on following David to their deaths, that was their choice.
After watching them struggle for a while, Robin lost her patience. “You have one last minute. After that, don’t blame me for what happens.”
That only increased the pressure. Two people exchanged a glance, gritted their teeth, and stepped forward.
“Commander Day saved us. We can’t betray him!”

“Yeah. I think Ms. Neel is right. We’re only a little stronger than normal people. That doesn’t make us real
strong.”
The two of them walked out of David’s group.
David’s expression darkened even more.
Behind Domingo, a short, young–looking boy suddenly shouted at someone in David’s group, “Otto! Listen to me! Ms. Neel is really strong, and what she said makes sense. Come with me!”
Otto Blackwood sneered and said disdainfully, “Isaac, you think I don’t know what you’re trying to do. You’re scared, fine–but don’t drag me down with you. I’m not falling for that!”
Isaac Farrell had seen Robin use two different abilities. He knew just how terrifying she was.

When his friend refused to listen, he grew anxious. But he also felt Robin might not want her strength exposed, so he could only stomp his foot in frustration.
“Otto, we’ve been friends for years! When have I ever lied to you? Even if we disagree this time, you know what kind of person I am! Why can’t you trust me? Come with me, or you’ll regret it!”
Robin watched the two friends argue from a distance, her voice cold. “Ten seconds.”
Domingo watched nervously. He had personally saved some of these people. Others had joined later. No matter what they thought of him, he had treated every one of them sincerely.
At a moment like this, he hoped they would stay.
“Five seconds,” Robin said.
“Five.”
“Four.”
“Otto! Hurry up! Didn’t we say we’d face everything together?” Isaac’s voice was shaking, almost breaking into tears.
Otto hesitated. But after glancing at David, he said, “I choose to trust him.”
“Two.”
Then five more people stepped out of David’s group.
Robin’s lips parted slightly. “One.”
In the end, David lost eight people.
He looked at them, his gaze dark and unreadable. “Fine. I respect your choice. But I hope you don’t regret it.”
The eight people looked at each other, suddenly unsure of their decision. Just then, someone came running from the distance, stumbling and out of breath. His voice cracked as he screamed, “Zombies! Alert! Full alert!”
