End Times, Surviving with My Beastly Army novel Chapter 264

Chapter 264 The Blue Shield

Finished

This base had been built by ordinary people. Their weapons were simpleclubs, knives, and a few old guns. Many were homemade. They were nothing compared to the gear at Redwood Military Base.

Isaac held fire in his hand. The flames this face in a deep orange glow. His expression was tenзc. He swung his fist and smashed a zombie’s head apart.

Boom!

That zombie must have drowned before it turned. Its body was swollen and bloated, the skin stretched tight and shiny under the sun.

With one punch, its head burst open. Thick green fluid sprayed out like a water balloon popping.

The smell hit hard. It was so foul that he couldn’t breathe.

Isaac didn’t even have time to catch his breath. Behind him, a zombie let out a sudden roar.

GRAAAH!

His pupils shrank. He spun around as fast as he could.

Too late.

A wave of rotten stench rushed toward him. His eyes widened as a huge, gaping mouth lunged straight at his face.

The zombie’s tongue had rotted away. Its mouth was hollow. Black gums held crooked teeth, packed with bits of rotten flesh and bone.

It was so close, Isaac could even see its throat twitch.

His mind went blank. Only three words remained.

I’m done for.

ROAR!

The zombie snapped down.

Clang!

A pale blue barrier suddenly materialized, separating Isaac from the zombie. The creature had no mind. No fear. It didn’t know how to stop.

It clawed at the barrier, its shriveled, twisted face pressed flat against the glowing surface. Its graywhite eyes locked onto Isaac. Its jaw kept snapping open and shut, like it wanted to rip him apart through the shield.

Chapter 264 The Bluc Shield

Isaac swallowed hard. He stumbled back, staring in shock.

Finished

Up close, he realized something. Before the apocalypse, this zombie might have been a decent person.

She was a middleaged woman. Her hair was a mess now, but you could still tell it had once been styled with care. There was even some dried gel left in it.

A small hair clip dangled on her head and fell on her forehead, tangled in blood and strands of hair.

Her clothes were torn to pieces, hanging in strips. Still, Isaac could tell, it had once been a suit.

One foot was bare. The other still wore half a highheeled shoe.

The front was gone. Only the back heel remained, jammed deep into her foot.

A middleaged woman in a fitted suit. High heels. Before the apocalypse, she might have been elegant. Educated. Wellspoken.

But now, she looked like a naughty child pressing her face against a glass door.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The food was right in front of her, yet she couldn’t reach it,

She went insane, slamming her face into the barrier again and again.

Thick black blood smeared across the surface. Still not enough. She kept hitting it. Her nose bent sideways from the impact, .sinking into her face.

Isaac forced his racing heart to slow down. Then he glanced to the side and froze.

At some point, the pale blue barrier had spread. It stretched outward like a dome, covering the entire base.

A cold chill radiated from it. Isaac suddenly understood. He turned his head fast.

Robin stood nearby, calm as ever. Her right hand was raised, fingers spread. A faint blue light gathered in her palm, holding the barrier in place.

This wave of zombies had come fast. Too fast. Many people hadn’t even been ready before they were forced into the fight. Everyone had been in chaos.
