Chapter 299 Seeds of a New Base
Fresh out of college she dull had that untouched, clear eyed innocence, and she got along well with hude Robin. After learning about her background, she paid even more attention to her, and the two of them grew close, but Yvonne couldn’t stay with the Neels forever.
Later, she passed her exams and got placed at Ravenholt, so she left the Neels.
That goodbye lasted nearly 20 years.
Neither of them had imagined they’d meet again like this.
Robin felt nothing but relief now, relieved that it was Sharon who had stopped their vehicle today. She’d seen something rare in that girl, something worth stopping for.
And because of that, she got the chance to see Yvonne again.
Once Yvonne’s breathing steadied and she drifted into sleep, Robin stepped outside and called everyone back in.
With the help of the Energy Booster and Healing Potion, her body had recovered well, but the pain and everything else had worn her down.
Now that her wounds were treated, she could finally sleep in peace.
“Ms. Dean… She’s going to be okay, right?”
Sharon asked hesitantly, looking at the bandaged Yvonne.
“She’ll be fine.”
Robin nodded. “Have you all been taking care of her this whole time?”
Sharon flushed a little. “Only because she was hurt. Honestly, ever since the apocalypse started, she’s the one who’s been taking care of us.”
Robin’s gaze swept across the cramped basement. The students looked worn and exhausted, but their eyes were bright, carrying a kind of kindness and innocence that was rare in the apocalypse, along with a quiet toughness.
“Have you all been staying here since everything started?”
“Yes and no.”
Jay explained, “This is a school, so we had a supermarket, a cafeteria, and a storage full of supplies. If we rationed, it would’ve been enough for a year… But recently…”
His expression darkened. “A group calling themselves Tyrant Base broke in and took everything.
“And that’s not all. They even targeted some of the girls here. If the teachers hadn’t risked their lives to protect them, who knows what would’ve happened? Ms. Dean got hurt because of that.”

“Tyrant Base
Robin raised a brow.
After the outbreak, bases had popped up everywhere, some rising fast to prominence. The most well- known were the five major bases.
The Redwood Military Base of Klam.
The Stormwake Base of Seabrook.
The Emberglass Base of Ravencrest.
The Northreach Base of Ironridge.
And at the very center, the Crosspoint Base of Kapitol.
Other bases existed too, less famous, but she knew most of them.
Tyrant Base…
What the hell is that?
She’d never heard of it.
It sounded like a joke.
“Yeah. We heard their base commander is an earth ability user. He’s really strong, and he basically runs Ravenholt now. They go around looting supplies. That’s why we barely dare to go out anymore.”
One of the girls spoke up quietly. They hadn’t had a full meal in a long time.
To stretch their food, they only ate just enough to keep going, but that couldn’t last.
So Ms. Dean got hurt because of that so–called Tyrant Base…
Robin’s gaze cooled.
“I see.”
She said lightly, “Do they have a lot of people?”
r
“A lot. And mixed. A lot of people in Ravenholt joined them. We’re no match for them,” Jay said bitterly.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t have just watched their supplies get taken.
