Chapter 304 This Has to Be a Dream
Yvonne’s eyes nearly filled with tears.
“Let’s eat first.”

Robin glanced downstairs. Through the floor–to–ceiling window, she could still see students running around the campus, carrying out the tasks she’d assigned.
The rich, mouthwatering smell filled the office. Jay and Yvonne couldn’t hold back anymore. Their stomachs, empty for so long, growled like crazy, and it felt like something inside them was reaching out, trying to grab the food off the table.
So when the students finally came back after choking down dry hard tack and running around outside for hours, excited and out of breath, they found the basement completely empty.
For a split second, they thought they’d been abandoned, but before the thought could settle, a scent hit them, thick and irresistible, pulling them in.
“What is that smell…”
One by one, they followed it without thinking.
The farther they went, the more stunned they felt.
Every zombie along the way had been cleared out, bodies scattered to the side, and there wasn’t a single sign of a struggle.
Which meant every
of them had been taken out in a single strike.
Did Robin’s group
do that?
Their hearts started pounding. Are they really that strong?
With that thought, they reached the office.
The door had been kicked half off its hinges, barely hanging there.
And that maddening smell was coming from inside.
A few students peeked in and froze.
Damn… Did we just stumble into heaven?
Or is this like the little match girl lighting her first match? Are we really seeing scrambled eggs and pulled pork in the apocalypse?
And Ms. Dean is holding…a huge drumstick.
“I have to be dreaming…” Sharon muttered and reached out to pinch.
A scream immediately came from next to her. “Why are you pinching me?”

“That hurt… So it’s not a dream…
Sharon said under her breath. “They’re really eating scrambled eggs…
“Oh, you’re back?”
Robin glanced at them casually. “Why are you just standing there? Come eat. We’re almost done.”
Only then did Sharon move, stiff at first.
“Go on, eat.”
Ella pulled her into a chair and shoved a fork into her hand. “You’re the first one back.”
Sharon couldn’t hold back anymore and eagerly dug in.
More and more students came in, joining the feast. Soon, the room was filled with nothing but the sound of eating, everyone too focused to speak.
After a while, they couldn’t eat another bite. One by one, they slumped to the floor, bellies full and round.
“I’m so full I can’t move.”
Abigail lay there, staring blankly at the ceiling, rubbing her stomach. Never in her life had food tasted this good.
“You all look ridiculous.”
Yvonne scolded lightly. “Even if you were starving you can’t eat like that. What if you make yourselves
sick?”
Even as she said it, she’d eaten plenty herself.
“Everyone full?”
Robin smiled. “Good. Then let’s hear your reports.”
They were already sprawled out, too lazy to move, so talking would do.
Even though they’d stuffed themselves, the rewards Robin had promised still mattered. Who knew when they’d get another full meal?
Better to earn and stash whatever they could.
