Chapter 330 No Free Ride
Jack was already in bad mood. He couldn’t touch Martin or move against Robin. And now, even Kevin was trying to tell him what to do?
“Who the hell do you think you are, telling me what to do?”
Kevin frowned.
What the hell?
I wasn’t trying to command anyone. I wouldn’t dare!
It really is getting late.
We came all this way to get things done!
Kevin forced a smile. “No, no, Mr. Neel, you misunderstood…”
Jack didn’t let it go. He snorted. “These days, even random nobodies think they can boss me around.”
Kevin had no words.
What could he even say?
He swallowed it and pretended he hadn’t heard.
They’d already pinpointed the granary’s location, but the area was rural. The road had turned into a dirt path, uneven and narrow. Vehicles couldn’t get through.
After discussing it, they decided each base would leave one person behind to guard their vehicles.
“No need.”
Dane didn’t bother hiding anything. “We’ll stash our armored vehicles ourselves. No offense, but we just met. Basic caution is only fair. I’m sure everyone understands.”
That landed like a slap. Some of the others‘ expressions darkened.
They had been thinking the same thing.
r
But they hadn’t expected Dane to be this upfront, laying it out so plainly that it left them awkward and unable to say anything back.
“Let’s go.”
Dane glanced at Robin. The two of them drove the armored vehicles off to a secluded spot. Once they were sure no one was around, Robin lifted her hand and stored them away.
Then they walked back like they’d just hidden them normally.
“Heh, Mr. Bone, you’re pretty cautious.”

Rolf forced a laugh. Dane’s move made it clear he didn’t trust them.
Dane shrugged. “Bad habit. I tend to overthink. I’m sure everyone here is honest, so it’s probably just me being paranoid, but old habits die hard I’m sure you understand.”
At that point, no one could really argue.
The dirt path was rough, and after the storms, it was even worse, full of pits and washed–out sections.
They trudged forward, kicking up dust.
The sun was already dropping, but it was still brutal.
Most of them were ability users with stronger bodies, but the postapocalypse sun was no joke. In less than half an hour, everyone was sweating.
Worse, as they got closer to the granary, more zombies started appearing. They would suddenly lunge out of the grass, catching anyone off guard.
“This place is a nightmare. Why aren’t we there yet?”

Jack yanked at his collar, irritated. As a member of the Neels, he had never been stuck in a dump like this.
The dust alone had already ruined his clothes.
Then he heard something strange behind him.
He turned. Robin’s group was trailing at the back, two people to a scooter, riding along at a relaxed pace.
Jack lost it. “Where the hell did you get electric scooters?”
Robin glanced at Dylan. “Sorry, we just remembered we had them. Hope you don’t mind.”
Everyone froze, having no comeback.
The road was still rough, but riding was a lot easier than walking.
r
And it didn’t take long for people to realize someone in their group had a storage–space ability.
They figured it was probably Dylan.
If that was the case, they’d need to watch them.
