Chapter 333 Coming From Above
Before he could finish, someone from Westfield Base cried out in terror, “We… we’re missing someone too!”
“Same here!”
Global Base followed right after.
Martin’s voice dropped immediately. “Redwood, check your numbers now and stay alert!”
Jack grew even more impatient. “What kind of trick are you people pulling? Don’t tell ree you’re-
Before he could finish, a shout came from behind him. “Mr. Neel, Mia’s gone!”
Jack’s face changed instantly.
Only now did everyone realize how serious things were.
People were vanishing right under their noses. This granary was clearly not normal.
“There’s no way this place has traps, right?”
Someone from Global Base couldn’t help saying, “Like those tomb–raiding novels, where people just disappear while walking because of hidden mechanisms…”
“Are you stupid? This is a granary, not some tomb!
“Can you stop talking nonsense at a time like this?”
The man shut his mouth awkwardly.
But a sense of dread began to spread, quiet and suffocating.
Especially with evening closing in, the light fading fast, this was far more terrifying than a zombie swarm.
“M–maybe we should come back tomorrow…”
ľ
Someone suggested in a low voice, “Something’s clearly off here. We should wait until daylight. It’ll be safer…”
His suggestion quickly gained support from most of the group.
People disappearing for no reason was never a good sign. Everything about this felt wrong, and in the growing darkness, it only made the pressure worse.
“Yeah, that makes sense. The granary’s not going anywhere. We’ve been on the road all day anyway. Let’s rest and come back in daylight.”
“I agree. I’m exhausted. If something really happens, I might not even react in time.”
“Everyone stay close so no one else just disappears…”

But after feeling around twice, Ire touched frothing.
His heart skipped a beat. He turned around quickly, only to find the person who had been standing right behind him was gone.
The beam of the flashlight swept over empty space.
“Honey!”
He shouted, completely losing control. “My wife’s gone!”
”
The danger lurking here seemed to sense their intent to leave, and more people began disappearing at a rapid pace.
Yet even now, no one had any idea how it was happening.
A cold, slick sensation slid down and wrapped around her waist in an instant.
Monica’s expression sharpened. A trian bayonet appeared in her hand, and she stabbed backward
without hesitation.
The strike met resistance, but whatever had wrapped around her didn’t snap.
Monica froze for a split second.
That weapon came from Robin’s cold–weapon stash. It was razor–sharp and had never failed before!
Before she could react, an overwhelming upward force yanked at her waist, and in the blink of an eye, her feet left the ground!
“Help me!”
In the next second, orange–red flames flared up and surged upward.
