Just then, the group that came with Freddy couldn’t help but pat his shoulder and ask curiously.

Freddy lifted his chin. “Naturally. She’s my subordinate.”

The others immediately brightened. “If she’s your subordinate, then she has to listen to you, right?”

Freddy snorted. “Obviously.”

“Then why didn’t you say so earlier!”

“Yeah! If you knew each other, you could’ve just brought us over here straight away!”

“Exactly! We lost three guys leading those zombies here!”

Freddy’s confidence faltered. He would have–but yesterday he’d watched Robin kill without flinching, and she’d flatly refused to take in anyone except Jessica.

He’d been terrified that if he pestered her, he would end up like the others who were shot.

So, after leaving the zoo yesterday, he’d hatched his plan–bring outsiders to storm Shangri–La by force, then swoop in to collect the spoils.

He just hadn’t expected Robin being so much more amenable when dealing with a familiar face.

The short man with the earth ability cut in, expression dark. “Since this was all a misunderstanding, let’s move on. I won’t press charges for my man’s severed arm. But Shangri–La–finders keepers, as far as I’m concerned.”

Seeing that Robin didn’t speak, the others started to persuade her. “Boss, you’re being too serious. Since we’ve cleared up the misunderstanding, let’s go inside and tend to the wounds first.”

Before Robin could respond, the group had already begun walking past her toward the villa–completely uninvited, utterly shameless.

“Ha.”

Robin laughed mockingly. She had seen brazen. She’d never seen this.

“Stop.”

Her voice was ice. “When did I say you could come in?”

Freddy’s face reddened. “Robin, what are you-”

Blood rolled down the shovel and hit the ground.

The air froze.

Freddy reached for her arm. “Just give me some face here. Think of the awards-”

Before he finished, Robin’s hand closed around his throat.

“You–urk–Robin!”

Freddy clawed at her arm, eyes bulging with terror. “You’d actually kill someone?!”

Robin’s voice was pure contempt. “Mr. Robinson, do you have any idea what year it is? Are you reading the room?

The color drained from his face.

Hearing this, Freddy suddenly realized something! How could he have forgotten… Why did he let his guard down so easily!

“Hey! Let him go! You said he was your boss!”

The others glared at her in fury, clearly not expecting her to suddenly make a move.

“He is my boss. I never said I’d spare him.”

Immediately, Robin’s hand tightened.

“I let him go yesterday. He repaid me by bringing all of you to my doorstep. The moment he led you here-

“None of you were walking away.”

Freddy’s eyes rolled back. A wet crack. His head lolled–throat crushed in her bare hand.
