Robin paused for a second, then casually kept rubbing Snowy's belly as if nothing had happened.
No one else noticed anything. But in her vision, a glowing screen quietly appeared.
Name: Snowy
Age: 3 years
Species: White Tiger
Aggression Level: S
At the bottom was one more line. Trust Level: 100%
Robin blinked. 100 percent?
She had read plenty of fantasy stories before, so the panel itself wasn't hard to understand.
But one thing puzzled her. What did "native" mean? A message immediately popped up.
"Your authority is too low. This question cannot be answered."
Robin shrugged. Fine. If the system didn't want to say, then forget it.
It didn't seem that important anyway. Her attention soon shifted to another line of text below.
"Once bonded, the host can communicate freely with the companion, and the companion will receive powerful mutation and enhancement."
Mutation and enhancement...
Robin felt a small jolt of surprise.
She already knew that when the apocalypse arrived, animals and plants would begin to mutate.
Humans would change too. Some people would awaken special powers. Those people were known as ability users.
But for humans, becoming an ability user was far harder than it was for animals. Most people who evolved only gained basic physical boosts—stronger bodies, faster speed, and better endurance.
Only a small number awakened true supernatural abilities, like controlling water, fire, or lightning.
In her previous life, Robin had only been a physical enhancer. Her body had grown stronger, but that was all.
Normally, mutations didn't begin until after the apocalypse started. Right now, there were still nine days left, but this system could skip that entire process and trigger an animal's mutation early?
Robin thought about it for a moment. Actually, maybe it wasn't that shocking.
After all, she already had storage space abilities. In a way, she had already stepped into the world of ability users herself.
Still, one question remained. "So... does Snowy want this too?"
The system answered right away. "A trust level of 100% is one of the conditions required to complete the bond."
Robin's eyes brightened. If that was the case, then what was she waiting for?
The moment she confirmed it, the system gave a soft beep. A faint purple light flashed in both her eyes and Snowy's.
Robin suddenly felt a wave of dizziness. The world seemed to sway for a moment. When her mind cleared, a cheerful voice burst into her head. "Mommy Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!"
Snowy excitedly shoved his huge tiger head into her palm. "Mommy! Mommy!"
Robin blinked in shock. Carefully, she spoke in her mind. "Snowy"
Snowy lifted his head and looked at her. His golden eyes now shone with a very human-like spark. "It's me, Mommy! It's really me!"
Robin stared at him, stunned. It was unbelievable.
Robin cupped Snowy's face and squeezed the soft fur on his cheeks, both surprised and amused. Then she asked the question that had been bothering her. "Why didn't you eat your food today? And why were you snarling at the keeper?"
The tiger's head, which had been happily rubbing against her hand, suddenly went still.
They stared at each other for a long time. After a while, Snowy's voice sounded in her mind, small and a little guilty. "I haven't seen you for a long time. I miss you."
